Appealling a reprimand
Recently got a one year repremand, which I appealled and lost, but felt the appeal was dealt with in a biased way by manager, is there anywhere to go after this appeal, or do I just wear it, very angry.

I had the exact same thing, 5 people had committed the same 'crime' previously and all got a slap on the wrist.............
unfortunately you can't appeal against an appeal decision, so just keep your nose clean for 12 months and it will be gone, shite I know but that's the one sided company we work for for you!!
All the best :)

If thats correct - that you can't appeal and appeal - then that means you have exhausted all the internal process. This then I would have thought leaves the option of a Employment Tribunal open, of course you would need independant advice and there are issues over length of time to apply to consider.

Re: Appealling a reprimand
No the only issues you can take to a tribunal other than unfair dismissal is if you have been discriminated on the grounds of sex , colour or sexual preference or age discrimination. Of course you can go to a tribunal on unfair pay deductions.
My advice is if you feel you have been unfairly treated especially as others who have done the same got off is to take a grievance out. However a word of warning a formal reprimand is the least penalty you can receive under the conduct code and lasts for 12 months. The risk of taking a grievance out is that you then buy yourself a lot of hassle with only a small chance of your formal reprimand being withdrawn.

If you feel so bad about it go and see a local Legal Advice Centre, lots of cities have them and take advice, if they think there is a case to take further legal action then the choice is yours. The grievance process is flawed use it at your peril!
This is the list of claims that are under employment:

Re: Appealling a reprimand
You can actually go to a tribunal for discrimination against a comparable other, as in you were treated unfairly in comparison to someone else.
I took a case like this to court and although your union may not help because they don't want to Rick the boat, if you have a good argument and are prepared to put in the work the management are pretty thick and it's quite easy to make them look stupid with their own contradictory statements.

Re: Appealling a reprimand
I asked this exact same question in another thread, if anyone has the rules and guidelines for management when it comes to disciplinary procedures. One must exist as most managers are way to dumb to know what to do and would certainly need instructions to do anything else other than bully, harrass and intimidate...fiona44 wrote:does anyone know how long a line manager has got from an incident happening to giving you a fact finding interview is and the same from a fact finding interview happening to getting a reprimand.
