Hi all, a mate of mine is the Rep in another DO and has been for about 6mths he was talked into it as no-one else wanted it.
By the sounds of it he is doing the best he can, taking members problems to DOM getting good decisions, fighting for what he believes is right, sorting the revision out.
But he has one guy who has been a pain, stirring the pot, putting my mate down all the time in front of people saying he knows better,
asking what the CWU is doing about this and that, all trivial matters but enough to wind my mate up.
The guy is not even paying dues into the local branch he's still attached to the Branch of his previous office 3-4yrs ago,
i told him to tell him to go and see his own rep and moan to him, cause if he can't be bothered joining our Branch why should he listen to him.
i know we are all members of the bigger club but this guy is really getting to him so much so he wants to resign as a rep.
i wanted to go to our Area Rep(i'm in the same branch) but my mate doesn't want to cause hassle.
Any good ideas welcome.

it is for your Branch Secretary to contact the Branch secretary from the Branch he belongs too to have him transferred into your Branch that is the Unions rules.
Now it's not strictly true that a member pays your Branch , first and foremost the members contributions go to the CWU and then your Branch is given a rebate based on the members you have class A & b and retired Branch's currently this stands at either 27 % or 28% of the members subs This money is for the Branch to organise and covers everything from expenses for meetings to paying the Death Grant which a branch can then recover from CWU HQs.
In terms of know alls and mouth pieces in offices every office normally have them. I call these the Canteen cowboys ! They will complain about everything but never want to do anything to change things. What is always important is to get some of the opinion formers onside in an office and try and get a committee of supporters to assist him.
