Taking the battery off and rebooting is a very big no no and I'm surprised you haven't lost data before now.

Taking the battery off and rebooting is a very big no no and I'm surprised you haven't lost data before now.

That's the only way to unfreeze them, have had to do it many time otherwise it just doesn't work.

Taking the battery off and rebooting is a very big no no and I'm surprised you haven't lost data before now.

You have to press the button behind the battery with a pen or suchlike to lose the data! Just removing the battery does no harm just re-boots from start.

If you have data on the PDA and remove the battery that data is lost and the items recorded have effectively failed. In the event of a total freeze you should then use a card in emergency. If the PDA doesn't react when placed in the cabinet it should be reported to the IT department. Are they a good piece of kit - NO, do other couriers use them - YES, do they think they are any good - NO.

Beg to differ, removing the battery does not wipe the data.

If you just take the battery off you aren't rebooting and as the guy said he had to do it 5 times. The new information is that before leaving the office you should use a hot boot to clear the machine, does it work - not from the number of failures we get.

Needs a connection to be sent, afaik when the battery gets lower than 30 it stops sending data

I don't know about delivery mode on the pdas but in mc mode, the pda gathers the stuff into batches of 50 and transmits it once there is 50 things to transmit (unless the comms is s**t - which it often is)
