Tranfer Help

i'm hoping someone can help me..ive been on the list for transfer now for more than 2 years, is there anything i can do or appeal to get something moving? other than a letter from sheffield recently letting me know that its all done online now where you now have to wait until a duty is advertised ive had no news. any postie with more than a week in the job knows duties hardly ever get listed these days in your own place let alone somewhere else, if anything i feel like im further away from the move i need than ever. i currently live in Huddersfield and travel 30miles to Manchester everyday, then have the joy of doing it again to get home after a long day. thing is i couldn't be more flexible, i'm only a leave reserve as it stands now, willing to do any job on either lates or nights. the mail centre im wanting to move to is Leeds which as i understand it is going through an expansion in prep to take mail from Bradford which is due to close. i've had good experiance of this myself when 3 years ago i moved to Manchester because Stockport got closed so i know that once the mail begins migrating they'll be begging for staff. i need a move, doing 60 miles a day is getting very old on me now. me and my very soon to be wife are talking about starting a family shortly which i will need to be close to. can anything be done? please help

If you can pop into Huddersfield DO, we have a revision due fairly soon as we have Delivery Methods coming in, and if you see the DOM you may be able to get into one of the "vacant" positions we may have then.

To be honest with Bradford closing and going to Leeds and some Ex Huddersfield Nights having to come back onto deliveries I think the chances of getting an MC job is slim, York is also closing as well so that will have an effect.

There are also outlying delivery offices all round Huddersfield (Dewsbury, Wakefield, Brighouse, Halifax, Salithwaite, Mirfield, Elland, Holmfirth) so plenty of chances if you don't mind deliveries - although a personal visit to each would be a good start.

thanks for the response TrueBlue, originally when i first moved to Hudds i enquired about deliveries however me and my partners long term plans have changed. eventually we want to move back towards where she used to live near church fenton in N.Yorks which would mean being back to square one travel wise thats why Leeds seems the best option for me, plus ive only ever known MC work not to say i wouldnt do a delivery but MC is my preferred choice

If anyone else can give me any advice on this it would be great, other thing i seem to notice is how some people just get moved or transferred at the click of there fingers. Is there any lines i can go down to make something happen? Does anyone have a contact i could get hold of who might be able to help me??

No, I thought Sheffield Mail Centre is about a mile or so north of Pond Street.
