could anyone tell me are mutual changes covered under mtsf,long term mutual changes people have been doing for as long as 10 years.in receipt of night allownce for 10 years

night allowance is protected for three years under MTSF

if you are of a certain age then you maintain it for life

>6 months compensation payment period =0
6-12 months =17 weeks
12-18 months = 34 weeks
18-24 months = 1 year
24-36 months = 1 year 17 weeks
+ 36 months = 3 years

we are currently going through a complete resign,we work on rotations,early /nights,we have people who have been doing mutual changes,so that they swap their early shifts for night shifts,these have been long term ,some as long as ten years,we have 34 night duties now ,but due to a business driven change these will be reduced to 27,under mtsf is their pay protection,because their will be 7 less night duties to swap onto,do mutual changes count under mtsf,i thought it was as long as you are in receipt of the allowance,cheers crash

Hi crash we had the same issue at our office .will try and find for you but I believe swaps are not permanent they should be reviewed every six months (think its in the way forward but will check) anyway we got around as this as reviews did not happen and all concerned were happy with it ... Think you may have issues if people who have swapped are not happy to continue swapping .. Hope this helps

i know what you mean graffi,but what i am saying is because of the revision their is 7 less nightshifts to swap onto,and it states in the mtsf agreement,as long as you are in receipt of the pensionable allowance ,you get pay protection,we have some people who have had mutual changes for 10 years or more,thanks for your help,i wonder if their is anywhere else this has happened,surely their must be.

The permenant swaps were counted towards our MTSF when we had a re pick last year.
