FLEXIBILITY AGREEMENT?

Does anybody know if the flexibility agreement still stands?

If we make half hour over monday and tuesday (rarely) then we may give them it back on wednesday , then still cut off on thursday and friday etc, we are not machines and we have a life outside the office!!

Incorrect, if you make any time on any day, you are not obliged to give back the time. It is for Royal Mail to fill your hours with sufficient work on any day. If you finish early and your manager asks you to do additional work, which you have been fully trained to do, then you are obliged to work up to your contracted hours. Otherwise you can go home and Royal Mail cannot claw this time back. The flexibility agreement is part of the 2007 pay and modernisation agreement, and this entitles Royal Mail to ASK you to work over by up to 30 minutes if there has been circumstances outside of the norm such as a van braking down or delay in the mail arriving. This time must be given back to you in the same week. There is no obligation on your part to agree to do this as the agreement states that this is down to individual circumstances. Equally you may ask Royal Mail to be flexible by up to half hour if you need to finish early. Again this is down to your Manager whether he/she is willing to give you this and you have to repay this time within the same week. Please note that Royal Mail can only ASK you to be flexible once in any given week.
