PA Postcode Area Revisions Being let down by union

Hi there

i work in dunoon delivery office, looking for some help, our office is currently going through a revision, the area rep , seems to be completely on RMs side, he has agreed to various things that our office dont want, he has agreed to a higher work rate than national agreed he has agreed to us being planned at 115% yet every time he is questioned about it he states its what the union want nationally, members in the office want different shift patterns but we are being bullied into 1 in 6 when a few want 1 in 4 saturdays etc but we are told we cant have these unless we lose FT staff and told 9 day fortnights etc are not allowed at all, union rep is agreeing to this and is telling us to just deal with it, we attempted to contact the local branch but have been told where to go as they wont help and will only support what our area rep wants, but he seems to be set to help out the area managers as best he can, what can we do as it seems that the union locally are doing everything they can to help rm and not willing to help us, we are also the first office in the area to go through this revision process so i can only see it getting worse if he is going to do the same to all the offices in the PA area, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

myself and the ir rep have fallen out with branch over our revision

we have decided we want whats best for our office and if it upsets the area reps, so be it

the office will need to accept this revision, not the area rep

the union refuse to acknowledge this so where does the area rep get the idea the CWU has agreed to it

You can go to HQ or the Divisional rep. Also you should have a vote on whatever he presents so hopefully you can vote down what he proposes.

If he goes ahead against the wishes of the membership then there is always the grievance procedure if they are still classed as a Royal Mail Employee.

Disturbingly despite using their own sites search facility and google, I can't find a page to help people raise complaints about representation, does anyone know if there is a formal procedure and if so is there a link to it.

There isn't an official complaints procedure as far as I know (there is rule 14, but no idea how to enact it), all you can really do is contact a divisional rep, or if all else fails, vote of no confidence (note: have someone lined up to stand in the election otherwise it will have been a pointless exercise).

PA area's are currently going through revision to park & loop, As i'm due to change over in 2 weeks the rest of the office has already did it and it's only working but thats because everyone is being paid to prep their walks to get them to complete. I voted for the 1-6 but we weren't explained much by the management with regards to job cuts and numbers.
