Ill Health Retirement

I have triggered a stage 3 and after business referal to Atos Doctor has concluded I am not capable of work in the near future and has said IHR with lump sum. Some people might not be happy with that but I am because I've had enough of the place and how we're treated etc etc. My DOM does not seem to want to progress this and seems intent on going ahead with stage 3, returning me to work or sacking me? spoke to HR they said she should really be progressing IHR as suggested. I am off with stress, largely due to they way I have been treated at work and I'm now feeling under further pressure due to her trying to get me in despite my doctor signing me off and ATOS report. I would like to know what your experience of this is and any advice. Thanks.

seems to be happening to a lot of us. i'm in line for ill health retirement in the near future and like you i'm glad to be going. done this job for 20 years and just had enough of managers being rewarded for incompetence.
in your case royal mail should be following the atos recomendation

BTW I've seen earlier posts re contacting HQ, would that be CWU or what? Any more info would be great. Also, how long does processing normally take?

sounds to me like she doesnt want to progress it because if she can get you sacked on a 3, then they wont need to pay you a lump sum for ill health retirement.

get in touch with you,re area rep/branch and get their take on this,,,,imediately. or you could be diddled out of you,re ihr if she gets her way!!

If you're under ATOS who recommend IHR (who the business have referred you to)then only a seriously stooooopid screw would sack you,not saying it doesn't happen or wont but it's very dodgy ground,a tribunal would love that.

Yes, I realise that, I've worked RM for 10 yrs so know how they operate. But like "postman" says they would be on extremely dodgy ground under the circumstances and even if it were under different circumstances they have failed to follow/up on so many procedures and duty of car etc etc I will let you know how I get on.

interestingly, recvd call from Atos nurse this morning. Not to progress IHR but a re-referal from DOM disputing original Atos report to say I met criteria. She was arguing stage 3 should be done=a clear sign she wants to dismiss me. Nurse had to end call because they had not recvd my consent, I wasn't made aware of the appointment and I was distressed.

If and when you get the dismissal letter within that letter will be the question whether you wish to be considered for ill health retirement obviously you then proceed for that option, that's if its your wish ?

tribunal will have a field with this one. she,s trying to go against a decision given by medical staff because she doesnt agree with it. this is what they do though, they will try to get an atos report rescinded or replaced with a new one if the original one doesnt suit them. make sure you have all this written down for you.re future reference. you will need it. best of luck and keep us informed.

Finally had IHR agreed after much opposition from Managers. Interview was 3weeks a go today and was confirmed, paper work sent out 2 days later and I signed and returned the following day. Was told payment would be made following Friday. Payment didn't arrive and nor did it the Friday after. HR say they are waiting for leavers ECR. Had to call DOM today and she said they don't need that because came from HR in first place???? She also mentioned about bringing leaving date forward?? different to date on agreement signed? I don't want to be diddled and the farce continues even after I have left!!!

OMG!!! lol Does anyone know what they are doing???? Spoken to HR again my end date is 02/08 which is on agreement, she told me won't get paid til then??? But PILON is just that, pay in lieu of notice !! GRRRRRRRRRRR I'm nearly there now but RM are making the whole thing a pain in the ****!!
