Moral objection to D2D

Can we decline to deliver on moral grounds?

I believe there was a previous agreement that BNP material could be declined.

You're right. During the last election several people in my office refused to deliver BMP material. So i guess there is a president set for a moral objection to delivering such stuff.

and so everything had to go

UNLESS someone genuinely feared a physical danger/attack due to delivering them - in which case volunteers were sought to deliver them to that particular round and if none found then managers took them out

It's not a party leaflet. It's encouraging voters to consider the candidates views on the issue and vote accordingly - ie don't vote for candidates supporting gay marriage.

6) Special Circumstances
It is jointly recognised that Royal Mail has a legal obligation to secure the delivery of
election material for all nominated candidates and parties.
Whilst it is expected that delivery will be made by the individual due to undertake the
particular delivery, local management will deal sensitively and sympathetically with
genuine requests to deviate from this arrangement.
Such cases may arise as a result of personal circumstances or beliefs or where an
individual believes that delivery of a particular item may incur personal risk.
If such instances arise alternative measures will be used to secure delivery. These may
include the use of volunteers from within the office or neighbouring offices to cover more
than one delivery or, as a last resort, the use of supplementary resource.
Both parties undertake to co-operate fully in the application of these principles and in
resolving any difficulties that may arise surrounding the delivery of election material.

But it doesn't apply to D2D, I don't think.

the line I was fed this morning was if you refuse, go home and you'll be taken down conduct code.

Technically not election material as it is a D2D and part of workload, and it's not actually a political party leaflet.

Felt physically sick this morning but couldn't refuse to deliver something that I do not agree with.
