So far I have had 2 election leaflets to deliver. They were both classed as D2D's.
Our manager has told us he does not expect any election leaflets coming in this year.
Is anywhere being hit by election leaflets and getting paid for them. I thought that all parties
were allowed one mail shot free and usually up here, the lib dems send out about 4 or 5 leaflets in the run up.
My mistrust in RM is starting to make me think that next weeks D2D's may, in fact, be election leaflets that RM wont have to pay us for!!!

A postie mate was 'complaining' that he had election letters and each household was getting like 3/4 (1200 per round) but said they were being paid 7p/item even though they were franked.I could do with some of that!!!!

I had the postal vote envelopes last Saturday. I hated them so much. They were just normal first class mail, and it took my walk from what would normally be 2 trays max. up to 4.5. Lazy people who can't be bothered to go to the polling office

Fortunately the normal polling cards were done on a day I wasn't working. There's even more of them.

You may wanna double and treble check that,we had this the other year on here,can't remember the outcome but the union were looking into it,as some DID come down as d2d's.

They 'should' come separate from d2d's.

As do I - more revenue - not going to apologise for being lazy either as the Polling stations open after we start work and don't want to spend time walking even more just to tick a box when I can do it at home in the warm, and getting RM more revenue. Bleeding lazy posties moaning about doing work.

As the Elections in 2012 ( excluding London ) are purely Local Government, Election material delivered by RM does

We are in the middle of a disagreement over this.
RM are refusing to budge.
It's with branch and going up to HQ when everyone crawls back from the seaside.

The leaflets were delivered.
Whether they are D2D or election material they were due for delivery.
Since the disagreement is over payment it would have been,in my humble opinion pointless and foolish to risk having members taken off pay to protect perhaps £15-20 in election payment.
It is a point of principle to protect future payments and that is why it has been raised as a disagreement.
If it isn't resolved to the members satisfaction they obviously reserve the right to take further action.
It was,as always left to the members to decide.

I've met councellors and their agents on my walk delivering their own leaflets this time around. One commented "money was tight this year" ... so there you have it

Just when I saw all those envelopes, I hated postal voters.

'we' had a WTL on this. told election D2Ds carry not payment.(I wasn't there due to the duty structure i was on)
The union rep didnt bother to attend and instead tied his walk down.........

Mine isn't that far away, but sometimes I don't feel well enough to leave the house, and even though I don't work for RM anymore, I'd rather RM got the revenue and kept my postie in a job. I often request things to be sent by post rather than email.
