CHANGE IS A COMING IN GLASGOW

Post by johnston65 »

Mangement today displayed notices telling staff that as from the 22/10/07 duty times will be changed, S/A times will change to reflect this, certain working practices currently disagreed will be implemented, duty Sunday O/T on certain charts will be eradicated due to the cessation of Sunday Collections. Some duties will be eradicated due to the work content being moved elsewhere.
:cfo :lfo
During this" period of calm " the CWU leadership have remained totally dignified, this can not be said for RM management. BUT now sadly the time has come to take the gloves off. Offices are close to hitting the streets. Speak up and tell us where we are going or else loose control of this dispute and the membership.

Had new work place 318s displayed in Peterborough they include performance measures to be displayed and flexible cross functional working. We are with you Glasgow either the PEC get it together or its gloves off. All this from 8th October and they started removing sa by executive action. The workers have had enough!

Royal Mail Dispute

As previously reported, the Union rejected Royal Mail’s latest proposal. The details of those proposals and why they were rejected were explained to representatives from each branch last Thursday.

Since that National Briefing, a further meeting has taken place with Royal Mail. At that meeting Royal Mail has invited the Union to table a fresh counter proposal with a view to reach an agreement and resolve the dispute.

The Union intends to take up that offer. As a result the Postal Executive is currently finalising that proposal.

At the same time the Postal Executive is discussing the details of the next phase of industrial action in response to managerial executive action on operational changes, pensions and ESOS. This will be communicated before the end of this week.

The details of the Union’s counter proposal and the need for members to continue to support strike action will form the basis of a letter to members’ home addresses and a detailed briefing to representatives.

We must take royal mail on and be prepared to go on the gate for as long as it takes no surrender.

This is already happening in Newcastle apparently. Tyneside MC Nightshift members have had their S/A removed with the late shift and early shifts gonna be losing their S/A too......

flip, this is bad isn't it?

Apparently also, the bullyboy management tactics are getting out of control too, with the mail centre manager there saying he don't give a toss about peoples mortgages, allegedly.

RM.... why oh why are you going on like this, has someone been giving you too much sugar before bed diddums???

:dance :dance :dance :dance :dance     :no no :no no :no no :no no :no no

-Careful RM have just one idea and it's the oldest 50's spiv trick in the book to orchestrate strikes and unofficial IA could invalidate any legal action. 2 RM have threatened the CWU with legal action in 2003, just anothe rway of breaking the union. To quote a RM Senior Mgr " There is a desire to break your 70's dinosaur union like never before ', I hope you can afford your Socalist Workers Party Subs out of your benefits , You won't be able to cause trouble on the internet as you won't have Broadband on Benefits " -three guesses what forum that was on !

Absolutely fully agree with you norbert, unofficial IA is not the answer, I was just highlighting what is being said in the areas. The last thing anyone wants is to resort to their tactics coz on the whole, if your looking at this from the outside in, you look at the two sides, here is us the workers, trying our best to keep things cilvil, and here is RM behaving like school children. They are the ones who push the issues and are not being very civil. We can keep our heads as a work force, it will infuriate RM coz they are chucking everything at us and we are so resilliant. I would love to see the general publics view on the way we are all being subject to bullying tactics.

Good reply there norbert, well done!!!
