Tracking posties by GPS with a PDA ?

We cut off on most wednesdays and thursdays on P/L and my driver is the Health and Safety rep.
We take a meal relief everyday before we go out that infuriates the Dom because we cut off.
My driver does everything by the book being the rep, van checks , bag weights etc everyday .
Dom kept coming in the canteen during our meal relief and kept looking at his watch .
Reason for the post is that he rings me up and asks if we are going to complete but the DOM let slip he knew where I was and also asked why I waited 10 minutes for an earlier bag, I'm sure they are tracking us on computer by GPS by our PDA's because where I was wasn't like a busy road as it was up a cul-de-sac.
Has anyone else been tracked or had their suspicions ?

I would very much doubt that any manager has the brain capacity to work out how to do that kind of thing. I'd ask him/her what evidence have they got and you want to see it? Just say you stopped for a s**t and if they have a problem with that then you will come back to office next time you need one to prove it.

Dont think they can fathom why we take a meal relief.
We start our normal time whereas most of the office come in early and go straight out so they are over an hour ahead before we posted our 1st letter.

on collections they can track every time you scan a box, since some people take the barcodes out, i've seen on the doms pc they have a gps location and a map to see where you were when you scanned that particular box. Also seen this with signatures since a customer complained that they didnt sign it yet the gps showed it being signed somewhere other than their door.

I would not worry about it your DOM is pissed off because you are doing your job properly, as you pointed out yourself it is their rules

They can't do anything if you are following their rules .

It's probabaly possible.. but its a sign they have naff all work to do if they can spend the day tracking you on their computer

put a bullying & harassment in as-well as a grievance form against him,if hes looking at his watch when your on your meal relief that is pure intimidation! get your rep on it asap!

you should of told him to plan a loop so your both back at the same time is very hard & for him to show you how to to the job properly!

Suspend comms on PDA turn back on when you travel back to the office.

This is what I do,tell them its because the battery won't last otherwise if they ever ask.

A while back the 2 guys in our locker said they had been 'tracking' me all afternoon on the computer, don't know if they were just winding me up or not (they certainly have the spare time to do it!)

I wrap my PDA in tinfoil now just to be on the safe side.

Alas turning off your PDA won't stop the DOM knowing where you are, all they need to do is pull the tracked item numbers off the computer and run them through the tracker to show at what time you were at a certain address. So unless you do all your tracks, specials and recorded items at the start or end of your run it is relatively easy to track where you have been. Don't Worry The Innocent Have Nothing To Fear!.Don't forget the transponders on the vans too!.

so if i suspend comms and scan a box will they be able to pick it up on gps?
