Maximum outdoor work

Please can anyone let me know if there is any agreement to the maximum number of hours of outdoor work in delivery ? I work 39 hours. Our office has not yet had the park and loop revision, so delivery spans are still 3.5 hours which is fine. However I have been told instead of double prepping and ISP sorting, I will be out delivering packets, which I would prefer not to do. Please post any agreement if there is one.

There is no outdoor maximum just your contracted hours (there's a link to it in the downloads section somewhere).

And can I ask, how are you working a 39hr week when you haven't done a revision?

ok, thanks for your help. Our office hasnt had a full revision to include park and loop yet, as is has been postponed, but we do have sequenced mail and I guess a mini revision to include the 39 hrs and hybrid duties when we had a resign.

Yep,realised that afterwards,have been looking for something in downloads.
Chances are though as well they may try to sneak in more calls to take them over the 3:30.

Scrap the 3.5 hr span - joint agreement claims this is purely an enabler for innovative attendance patterns.
In practice RM use it as an enabler for cutting hours/duties/jobs without the slightest intention of meeting employees "aspirations". Now all walks are "no longer equal cos the union agreed it, seniority is obviously a thing of the past, cos PT walks ain't as long as FT walks" sic
Time to step up to the mark HQ?

Quite right Belial. In our office we have both HCT and shared vans. The walks are all different lengths and totally mismatched. Everyone on 5 day duties, no 9 day fortnights, 4 day working etc. The HCT duties vary greatly, some seem to go on forever. With the shared van duties we have a full timer with a part timer, so many of the full timers were bypassed when it came to seniority, as they could not be buddied with another F/timer. we have lads who have 9/10 years service and have just about managed to get a rotation duty or leave reserve place. Not much for all those years of service. The whole thing, in my opinion, was to sideline the union, its members, and rail road RM policy through the back door.

Interesting, even our rep says there isn't a limit on this. Will be taking it up with him ASAP. Cheers.

FT is usually good for finding these things
