duty holder

ive been informed that there is no such things as a duty holder anymore as a postman,is this true or is my manager telling me lies,ive been a posty for over 7 years and now he wants me to be a floater,while people who have been here less time are duty holders ,i have had 2 dutys that have been lapsed now that i was a duty holder ,is this a directed at just me.

Its amazing some of the stuff you hear on here that managers try on. Staff though need to grow a pair and flag it up as a grievance issue or they will try it on over and over again.

So...why are they picking your duty to lapse?
If there is a genuine reason like it's closest to the D.O. then fine but as a displaced duty holder you should get your pick of any vacant duties.
Your office will have vacant duties and that includes any that have people camping on them that haven't genuinely picked them.
If there isn't a genuine reason to lapse your duty then speak to your rep and find out why.

my duty has been lapsed for over a year now,but my manager wants to lapse a duty that is next to the DO,and put that person on my duty ,and keep me as a floater,bacause that person is not very good and has had lots of complaints against him
