Correct me if i'm wrong,but I thought we had to deliver as addressed,can there be a note on the packet that says,if not in deliver to number 42 ect instead?
If your recipient is unlikely to be home, please include a message in the special instructions section of the order form for the postman e.g. Please leave this parcel at number 42.

I won't deliver a SD to a neighbour even if it states 'if no answer leave at ??', it could be a scam and potential ID theft issue. The managers would'nt hesitate conducting you if something went wrong and the proof on the envelope would be gone as soon as you hand it over to 'the neighbour'.

Some things are allowed to get around the rules on special delivery.
The obvious one is a card from Her Maj which can be signed by us and popped through the door.
Maybe this is another one...would be nice if RM let us know though.

I have a SD which I sign for most weeks! It's Parliamentary Mail for our MP!
Not that idea then. How much does Next day tracked cost? Have they brought that in properly since I left? Seen a few going through just before I left, mainly amazon ones. Just wondered if the site had got confoozled

Well today I received in 21 tracked items, tomorrow it will be 200+ - why Wednesday is such a huge day I don't know, it'll be 120-150 for the rest of the week except Tuesday.

Tracked 48-hour service (Royal Mail Tracked®): For customers posting over 300,000 parcels a year with our 48-hour service we aim to deliver your parcel within 48 hours with the following exceptions. Parcels addressed to the following postcodes HS, KW, ZE2, ZE3, JE, GY, and IM should be delivered within three days.
For customers posting less than 300,000 parcels a year on our 48-hour service we aim to deliver your parcel within two to three days.
Alternatively, if you need a guaranteed service you may wish to use our Special Delivery™ service.
Most of them 200+ you get through tomorrow will have been dispatched Monday (probably all the orders that have been recieved by companies between the end of the working day Friday and the start of the working day Monday

Special Delivery™ and inbound international items requiring a signature are excluded from the Delivery to Neighbour trial.
I appreciate it's not the trail thing,but surely someone in the know (and courier/mrm are deffo not in the know) should of picked up what is going on.
It's in black and white,and as we know it's a no no.

had a neighbour blow a gasket of epic proporsions when i wouldnt leave a special for her next door at xmas, just kepy shouting UNBALEVABLE UNBALEEVABLE lol stuff like that makes me smile in a twisted way
