2010 Agreement what a joke
Our small Rural office still hasn't had it's revision, we've now been told the planners will start work in August, so by the time they've broken everything, it wont be implemented until after the Christmas pressure, which means it will be 2013 before we see any of the "improvements"
Yet we are still being told to work to the 2010 agreement when it suits, and not to when it suits.
Was there no time scale to when the country should be totally revised by.
I've yet to meet any one who can agree with RM that more vans is more cost effective and cheaper than bikes
I actually transferred to this office on my new 39hr contract in June 2011, I'm now being told that as we are pre-revision I have to revert back to 40 !
2010 was joke, that Billy and Dave got the approval on by the back door, It's time that the people who have the weight on the shoulder and take the mail the last mile have their own distinct Union, no-one cares about us, so it's time we started looking after ourselves

Re: 2010 Agreement what a joke
I have a few suggestions for the acronym CWU; most of them too rude for this site, but the one I like best is the Capitulated Workers Union.
Cap in hand, begging bowl tactics have always prevailed with this lot, and their failures are always followed by empty threats of strike action. Strikes have proven utterly useless, as the only people to get hurt are the posties themselves. ( 1 Day's strike; 2 days' post to deliver on return).
The phantom "shares" was a classic, as these were carrots dangled by RM to persuade the Laurel and Hardy union in the "bargaining" negotiations.
Many times I have talked with mates about moving to another Union etc. It's a no goer, we discovered.
However, here's SOMETHING YOU COULD DO.
As the only thing that really interests Billy Dave and all the other "executives" is your weekly contribution to their mega salaries and "expenses", organise a week or even a month when all the members withhold subscriptions. It's legal and dead easy.
I don't do Facebook but the ball could be set rolling by such social media. It's a very simple matter to stop and restart subs; simply call wages in Sheffield and it's done instantly - I have done it twice already. I am only a member because I come very much from a working class background and feel it is a right that was earned by my forefathers.
Otherwise you could simply make that call and give yourself a 3 quid pay rise.
The massive changes are being put through by a faceless management. The CTC cycling federation hoped that Moya Greene would live up to her name and be planet friendly. It seems not. No-one will hold their hand up and say "yes, it's my idea". Nowhere else in the world is going this way (to my pea brain), and we are sliding down the league table of rich nations.
The management are out of touch with reality, just like Cameron, who's never had a pastie in his posh mush, while we burn diesel like it's H2O..how sad.
Good luck, you will need it.

So you are happy that the deal was steam rollered through by offering mail centres your cut of the D2D money, do you honestly think it would have gone through without that massive carrot.Royal_Fail wrote:I no longer have the weight on my shoulder and i like it...
It's simple Math. after this latest rise, I'm now just about on par with what I was earning PRE-REVISON

Re: 2010 Agreement what a joke
I think if everyone delivery side of royal mail knew back then what the transformation had instore for us this would never had been passed, things aren't working and because its not we are seeing more bullying from managers and posties not using the equipment because of pure pressure.
2 senior blokes in my office do the p&l by the book use lwts and can't get done on time so they cut off, so now they get mail counted nearly every day and just basically are hounded all morning to get out , this isn't modernization its unfair workloads cos royal mail and managers think its quicker with a trolley , its a load of bollocks.

The information was there in the document, as far as I can tell from my own experience the whole thing has been cocked up by managers who didn't want to lose any of their fat bonus's by restricting the planners access to the information required.non-driver7 wrote:I think if everyone delivery side of royal mail knew back then what the transformation had instore for us this would never had been passed, things aren't working and because its not we are seeing more bullying from managers and posties not using the equipment because of pure pressure.

Pre revision in one WTLL session we were told by a Dom that there would be a need for some people to take vans home because so many new ones were coming in, suffice to say this wasn't needed, and frames were thrown out, so it was obvious to all, that a lot of fiddling had been done to make some walks even bigger.
The trolleys are another point in case, when our revision actually comes in, I wont be able to take all of the packets for some loops on the LWT, the pouch just wont carry them all. Supposedly with packet volumes increasing the situation can only get worse, yet they knew packets were on the increase before they even instigated this mess.

We were told that we had bigger loops because the driver needed time to do big parcels and specials, we are now being told that we need to take the big packets in our pouches my driver just sits and waits for me now cos he's got f**k all to do its so annoying.

I think this post is one of the most positive ideas I've seen on RMC. I think that we could, through word of mouth, social media and whatever other communication channels we can find, demonstrate to the cwu that their response to management running roughshod over the workforce is pathetic.il postino rosso wrote:I have a few suggestions for the acronym CWU; most of them too rude for this site, but the one I like best is the Capitulated Workers Union.
