How many parcels per hour??

Does anyone have a copy of the standards expected when delivering parcels. Our office is saying 20 per hour but I'm sure it's less. Any info appreciated

As far as I know there is no definitive answer to your question as it seems that LOCALLY agreed terms may be applied, but thru experience anywhere between 15-20 is the norm???????????????

It depends on the geography of the area,what time of day it is,what day of the week it is,how many are signed for etc.
You can only use an average figure as a very rough resourcing guide.
You certainly can't apply it as a performance standard.

4 drives in my office,and each one does a different amount per hr.
Thousands of drives in the business,every single one will have a different average on any given day.

one every 5 mins is acceptable but not in rural locations

Aout 15 an hour,but as said it all depends on the geography of where you deliver,it takes longer to deliver a parcel to a tower block then it does on a street so you have to take these factors in to account when agreeing a figure.

We have an unwritten agreement of 15 an hour you do make a bit of time depending on the locations and
travelling time but overall it seems ok a few months ago the DOM did try to up it to 20 an hour but nobody
was then interested. He couldnt work out that was one every 3 mins even Lewis Hamilton would have struggled.

i was doin packets last week, dom aparently counted 54 drops before i started in two yorkies, i didnt count them i dont reely care takes as long as it takes, foned me up exactly 2 and a half hours after pulling outa yard flabargasted that i wasnt back for more yet, took me another hour after that to finish them any way, then it was break time lol

I have four streets of six terraced houses on either side. At christmas I had loads of parcels and simply rang/ knocked every door with a parcel then stood in the middle of the street.

You should tell them that you will sound the van horn next time they have a packet, just like the taxi drivers do, save getting wet when raining
