The end of BT2010

Post by Cut Off King »

We are near the end of the BT2010 deal,

but very few of RM employee's have recieved anything near the sort of rewards that were promised to them.

39 hour week, ££££ for revision changes, CS monies etc.etc.etc.

Good luck to those employee's who have gained from the deal,

but for the VAST MAJORITY of us, we've got nothing but grief

We were told that there would be winners & losers in this deal, but it looks like RM are the winners and 99% of emplyee's have lost.

Will we get the benefits owed for the pain endured - BEFORE the end of the 3 year deal ?

Probably not, still we now have beyond 2012 to look forward to. More glossy brochures from our chief exec, telling us how we all need to pull together to make RM profitable, even though mail numbers are down, so as to make it more of an attractive purchase for someone. Even though the rank and file posties have done their part. The end of generous vr packages and redundancy terms. The end of the CWU if we are sold off? I thinks thats enough for now

No changes and no rewards......dear me and there's a bloke on here who believes there has been 1000 revisions, however the CEO believes it's only 380 and that's after 2 years.............well there is another year to go, so perhaps there may be a race to the finish line......and then a race to get the failures working over the following three years. Perhaps we could call that BT 2010 Revisited.

Dvbuk for someone who has over 10 thousand posts on here you really are clueless. There are over 1000 revisons nationally been introduced. There is a tracker which shows the revisons and payments which are exchanged nationally and regionally.

For example all the following offices in London have had a non sequeicning revison. Charlton , Wood Green , EC1-4 , New Cross, Thamesmead , Norwood , Forest Hill , Highgate , Deptford , South Kensignton ,Rotherhithe , Winchmore Hill , Lower Edmonton , Mortlake , Chingford , South Woodford, Tottenham , Hornsey , Finsbury Park , W1 , WC , Eltham , Upper Holloway, Upper Edmonton , Highbury , Muswell Hill , Camberwell , Palmers Green , Walworth , Lee , South Tottenham , Islington , Kennington , Brockley , Dulwich , Blackheath , East Dulwich , Lewisham , Southwark , Sydenham , Herne Hill , Greenwich , Anerley , Norwood , Holloway.

In addition the following offices have had walk sequencing revisons which in London also include delivery methods. Ealing, Kensignton , Forest Hill , West Kensignton , Paddington , West Ealing , Hanwell , Acton , Shepherds Bush , Hammersmith , Maida Hill , Chiswick , Notting Hill , Whetsone.

Now London have introduced the least revisons in the UK thus far with the North West introducing the most. There are 10 Royal Mail management regions who have introduced far more revisons.

What Moya Greene was talking about , remember I was there and reported it was delivery method revisons where you introduce CDVs and HCTs and you should abolish bikes , the use of private cares on delivery and bags on shoulders. It is these revisons which are the problem ones , according to the trackers 388 of these revisons have been introduced and according to her 100 are not working. Now why they are not working is another thing which needs to be looked at especially as nowhere near 100 offices or Branch's have contacted CWU HQs stating they have problems.

Now Cut Of King wishful thinking on your part I think. Now that state aid has been granted and the government have taken on the pension deficit there is even more pressure from the Government and the EUmto introduce changes.

Hence the Birmingham roadshow for DOMs etc.

So If you don't see the benefits that the members are owed, being paid, Why are the CWU HQ colaberating with RM ?

( and can you guess why the membership might be a little sceptacle about the CWU leadership's direction ! )

Cut of king I think people on here should only talk about representing their views , you , me or no one else can say they reprsent the views of the majiority of the workforce.

Yes there are talks ongoing about the issue you have raised and the aim was to take these agreements to annual conference.

The View is that there has to be a cut off period for the SWW and the lump sums. In addition clearly the plan will extend the BTA agreement and therefore is there any more money on the table , plus keeping MTSF.

Listen Dingo, I don't give a flying f*ck, how many YOU say have had a revision - what I'm talking about is exactly what Moya was talking about, CDVs and delivery methods revisions................not some "self starter" crap where monies were actually paid over for no revision at all. If you read many or actually any of the posts on here you will see that the real revisions have created problems like ignoring the use of trolleys and in some instances they are still using private cars. Perhaps those areas are that Moya describes as failures. You quote as many lists as you like but the reality is totally different and as you are from an area with the FEWEST revisions and I from the area with the MOST, it's highly debatable which of the two of us is clueless.

But I also cover the Some offices in the Thames Valley region and Unlike you I travel to many offices not just one.

I know what's happening out their , and I along with others in London are determined the offices which we reprsent are done properly. there were two revisons which were not working in London and Paddington was one of those where Royal Mail said that they could take 11 walks out in the end. Seven were taken out and the office collapsed. Thanks to the hard work of the area rep and local reps 3 walks were put back in and it's is now back on track but what is important is that the PIRs are done.

Now Not I or you know what some revisons are not working and only can they be resolved locally but if a revison is not working I would expect that to be raised via the industrial relations framework quickly so it can be resolved.

Must be great to be in London because all those things say don't happen anywhere else........certainly not in NI but then I probably just making trouble so it's ok to ignore everywhere else BUT London.

The union needs to appreciate that the delivery methods revisions were the major change for delivery staff from the BT agreement.
Even if you believe Moya's conservative figure of 100 failed revisions that's a hell of a lot of members left to work in very difficult circumstances.
They will rightly or wrongly blame the union if they are left like that and it would appear that the revisions are still failing despite more union involvement so the ranks of the disaffected can only grow.
In my opinion time is running out and sitting on your hands hoping it will get better which seems to be the position of HQ....is suicidal.

Well presumably they have been raised via the IRF, or if not, and probably haven't been, it shows a marked reluctance for these issues to be brought to anyones attention who could presumably do something about it. Don't you find it worrying that the framework is apparently NOT working. As for travelling far and wide...............well that's the wonder of the internet and social networking............gone are the days of the smoky back room in some pub with a bunch of back slappers.

Fish I agree with you , delivery methods is a massive change for delivery postmen and women probably bigger than the move from two deliveries to one and was always going to cause problems.

But do you know the most remarkable thing is that the CWU have not been made aware which 100 offices are not working. Now whether that is some areas/ Branch's don't like to admit to a failed revisons , or whether an office has agreed a revison which the Branch do not support , or that an office now is happy to operate out of chaos as more over time is available or an office has given up on everyone including the CWU.

So it's quite strange that Moya Greene can state that their are 100 offices not working yet the CWU at local , area , Branch , divisional and national level would not be able to name that 100 offices outside of the newsworthy ones and high profile ones and more importantly to understand why they are failing.

I have long supported an audit but possibly to late.

That's a pretty telling statement really that the CWU don't know which offices are failing nor why they are failing and these revisions have been going on for two years.................it might have been an idea to have a round robin...but then they haven't. It would appear that Moya knows the game and the CWU are left in her wake. Like all things recently though, RM say this, RM say that.................when are the CWU going to take the iniative for once.

There seems to be a strange attitude that if a problem does not feed it's way through the IR framework it either does not exist or is not relevant.
If my CEO is prepared to own up to 100 failing revisions and the system the union has in place to monitor those revisions doesn't show those problems i would say it's pretty obvious the system is failing.
Why is the IR framework not being used?
Apathy,Distrust of the framework,Ignorance of the framework,Poor representation.
Take your pick...does it matter?
The IR framework is mainly there to flag up continuing problems to a higher authority.
It doesn't get much higher than Moya and she says she will personally get involved if need be while the union still insists that these issues should be resolved locally.
Why after all this time do we not have a complete report with member input of every delivery method revision from the relevant Area Reps?
Some of these revisions have been in place, and failing for almost 18 months....it's not good enough.
It makes you wonder who pays who for what... :cuppa
