Our small office want to do what some of the posties are calling a "Mini Re-sign".

We are pre revision, there are a few old heads in it as well.

Firstly I am being told that all the walks are 35hr delivery and that other indoor work is not attached to any particular walk, the area Union rep has sort of confirmed this, I think he is wrong, the supervisor says the 318's have been "lost".

My Argument is that PT's are getting a pick ahead of FT's because they have been working for RM longer, thus some FT's like me are having to sign for walks that are 35hr and have up until now had no indoor work assigned to them. It occurs to me and another new FT in the office that they are working the system to keep the old hands in the office on the best walks.

I'm now the dog turd in the office because I'm the only one saying that I don't agree with the Union Rep, my belief is that duties are designated as full and part time, and that IPS and the indoor work is part of a duty, am I right or do I have to wear sack cloth and ashes to work on Monday and ask for forgiveness.

I presume when you say deliveries are 35 hour you mean 3 and a half hours? If so then i cant see a problem with a re-sign as all duties are the same hours so a full timer will have extra indoor work to take their hours up to full time whereas a part timer wont do as much indoor work. Only fair that seniority is used as well.

As far as I know it can be either some units have designated FT and PT walks and some dont. As long as the Out Door part of the duties are the same then a unit can choose which one best suits their members.

I believe Top Shop to a good line in Sack cloths. :nervous

The walks ( Delivery spans), vary in size, some only have one set of wings, there are two which have around 600 delivery points each, so there is very little parity across the office.
