Well, my doorbell rang today and there was a special delivery letter from the royal mail. It seems that due to the revision, I am surplus to requirements as of Friday and therefore have no further work. My temporary contract ran out a month and a half ago and I had heard nothing so thought I was safe. Evidently not.
Job center tomorrow then.
Thank you all for being here - your threads made for informative and amusing reading and gave me a good insight to the job before I started.

? Despite the SD are you sure,have you been in to the DO to confirm,and why didn't they see you and tell you at work?

They have specifically said in the letter that there is no more work and my contract won't be renewed and that I am to sign a form to show I have understood. I will be signing it and adding a cover letter too. I have a few things I wanna mention in that letter. Anywho, they haven't told me face to face coz have had a coupla days off due to kidney infections and chest problems (courtesy of stress related to something entirely different). My sick note hasn't even run out yet. I have a doc apt tomorrow and let the LM know that I would phone him then to let him know what'd been said. It seems that won't be necessary now.
Is this the revision, or the fact that I'm unable to work (though it's not like weeks or months - just until the antibiotics kick the ass outta the pain). I would not like to think it's the latter!

I don't know the answer, but the qustion juping to my mind is...
If you were already outside of your written contract, can they really send you a letter on Wednesday to say Friday afternoon will be your last shift?
As employees we need to give one week's notice.
Sorry to read your news, but it may well be a blessing in disguise in the long run, given how RM are crumbling at the seams.

Am still in the process of writing cover note, though have been paid all outstanding overtime which is nice! I had been asking to speak to lm's for weeks but was never called in. I should've had a supervision Jan 30th, but it never happened despite my reminders! RM is a little chaotic, I have to say! Not too upset about leaving, just perplexed about the way in which it was done!!!
