"The door bell doesn't work, please knock"

Post by arty_morty »

It does work you just need to spend a couple of quid on batteries! For some reason that really gets my goat.

Rant over. :Very Happy
I staged a Roger Moore impersonator festival in my local village. There were a lot of eyebrows raised, I can tell you.

or spend nothing and just remove the button from the door only leaving the option to knock

the one that really gets me is the ones which dont work and no sign and you spend a minute or so thinking did that bell ring or am i just hearing things before deciding to knock

"It does work, you just need to get off your ar** and answer the door"

"If you can't hear your doorbell, you won't hear me knocking either"

Not that I would have ever, ever ever, said either of those statements to my lovely, considerate customers.

I ALWAYS knock and ring - saves waiting if bell is not working. Rarely have anyone complaining and if they do I apologies and say I am slightly deaf and did not hear it ring.

I just ring and knock on the door. No problem but I have one complaint from toffee nose lady saying there is no need to knock on the door when the bell is working.

I haven't got time to wait to see if they answer the door or heard it.

Indeed, in some of the larger houses etc, the actual 'bell' may be in a different part of the house to alert the owner, so it is always worth a knock to attract attention of someone who may be closer to the front door. You win some, you lose some - damned if you do, damned if you don't!

I knock and ring aswell. A couple of houses I deliver to have 3 or 4 old bells, instead of taking the broken ones off the door frame they just add another
