Conduct coded for using a bag on shoulder after P&L?

I was just wondering if you know of anyone being disciplined for using a bag as normal instead of using the trolley?

In offices where everything has 'bedded in' and no cut off are left not immediately after implementation.

Come to think of it, If P/L incorporated the trolleys that would be extremely stupid for my walk since most deliveries are capable for the child!! (We work in small bundles eg. street and drive on etc) It would honestly take longer to set up the damn thing than we just get on with it!

~ I would doubt people would complain if you used the bags on shoulders cause they do want there mail don't they!

Funny enough he wouldn't do that but he did offer to give me a van on my own, breaking the another guideline of P & L!

Why's using a van on your against the rules?

Some areas that we deliver to take longer with a trolley and only have light mail (maybe 4 - 5kg per bag if that), so whilst the longer loops are definitely trolley areas with two satchels at a time, we finish off the smaller areas with bags on the shouldder and take advantage of all the walking shortcuts that a trolley would add 10 minutes to - it's common sense and comfortable to do, only being about 10% of the complete route.

my current walk has one loop where there are steps to the property that turn 90°, rendering it impossible to see the pavement from the door. so if using a trolley i'd have to either:

• leave it in public view, out of my own line of sight, unsecured (probably a sackable offence)
• take the damn thing up the steps, and down again, which would probably have h&s implications and would certainly add an hour at least onto the time required to complete

if rm tried to get out of my claiming for a bad back, should i get one, they'd have no chance of arguing they'd given me the equipment to avoid the need to carry a bag. the only current option which would do that would be to use one of the red, lockable trolleys, but how would that work on a p&l route? (and in any case it's not offered).

as far as i can tell, it's only terraced streets and properties with a clear, wide path to the door, that are really suitable for lwts…

if your not using your trolly what you doing with your oversized pkts ,your not ment to be driving round with them in the van, and all loops were possible are ment to be 40 mins long, how you getting away with doing just bundles, , use of all equipment provided for park and loop is mandatory,and use of all private cars is to cease in offices were park and loop has been brought in,linos and dims are turning a blind eye to this because they know it does not work, get your union reps onto it, and if he wont do anything go higher than him, about 13 of us asked for meeting with dom to ask about this, we went to meeting with a email we had from his boss saying trollys are mandatory and use of private cars is to cease,he admitted it was true,we asked him to put out a brief for the linos to tell everyone,he said he would, in true dim style he has so far avoided putting pen to paper, . use your trollys take your breaks and dont go in early, simples

trollys are used with a pouch each side, mail in one pouch and oversized packets in the other side, your not meant to deliver your mail then drive round with your packets, some packets wont fit in your pouch so you have got to drive round with them, but when possible you must put packets in your pouch,i know some lads who are delivering there mail not using trollys,then they both drive round delivering there packets. your only supposed to go to address once where possible.

It's like flogging a dead horse I'm afraid. I've explained over and over again about the use of trolleys and the time factor................I didn't realise there was so many special schools in the area.

For oversized packets, there would only be 2 streets in my walk which would require a van. That being said it works perfectly with me (driver) and my experienced postie! He simply does a longer area than usual while i finish off my little area followed by delivery of packets to other areas!
