ARE we going on strike or not ?

RM seem to be making all the anouncements, and the CWU are saying nothing

Is the CWU still in talks with RM ? ( and thats why they're quiet )

If not, what are they waiting for.....this thing is loseing momentum and RM are going to capitolise on it

YES ITS ALL GRIM ISNT IT. MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT CWU ARE ANNOUNCING THE NEXT IA DATES THIS AFTERNOON - WITHOUT FORE-KNOWLEDGE I GUESS CWU ISNT AN ORGANISATION WITH A LOT OF PEOPLE WORKING FOR IT, UNLIKE W*NKER AND CO WHO HAVE THE WEIGHT OF THE RM AND BUM/FRIENDS IN THE PRESS AND MEDIA TO HELP THEM ALONG.
WE ARE ALONE, BUT AT LEAST WE ALL HAVE EACH OTHER TOGAIN STRENGTH FROM -THIS TIME NO WAVERERS!

What annoucements have RM made? or are you referring to the last deal they put on the table?

If its the last deal, then the CWU need to get letters out to us, because after some of the strike breakers saw that list of crap, we were supposed to take up the ass, they had a small change of mind, mine you, of course they only had little brains to start with, otherwise they would of gone on strike with the rest of us.

Some still didn't belive it was true, so the union need to get it in a letter and send it with the new strike dates!!

Postal Dispute - Update.

Negotiations have taken place between CWU and Royal Mail over the last five weeks, but ended on Sunday without agreement.

However, there has been progress in a number of areas, including pay. Although talks are set to continue the union is disappointed that Royal Mail has ended the agreed â€˜period of calmâ€™.

Royal Mail have announced that they will implement unagreed operational changes. The first of these will be a change to delivery start times from the 8th of October 2007.

As a result, despite being committed to further talks and being determined to reach an agreement, CWU will announce further strikes. The union's postal executive will meet on Monday 17th September to finalise their decision.

A summary of the latest rejected proposal is as follows.

SUMMARY OF REJECTED PROPOSAL

Pay
A number of options that amount to 6.7% on basic pay over two years with additional lump sums. This includes more money in the first year.

Flexibility
A range of proposals which amount to total flexibility where postal workers will not know what job they are performing from day to day.

Pensions
The company has virtually re-tabled the previous rejected proposal as revealed by the Daily Mirror, including a reduction in benefits, increased employee contributions and later retirement age.

No final agreement on a number of areas including job security, personnel procedures, automation, productivity and network changes

Moved to Ballot and i heard there should be an announcement today on strike dates.
But we already know what they are anyway,was a small word on area reps doing their nut and want the dates to be cancelled and for it all to start on Monday!
