Claiming bus fare

How does an opg go about claiming back the bus fare to get back to the do after their walk. Someone in our office says she's losing £10 a week because of this.

Keep the receipt and hand it in to phg in callers office on return to office. Ours pays it out of petty cash straight away.

Don't use the bus if they're not paying. They need to sort out the method of transport!

When I've has to use the bus, I've been given a bus pass or petty cash (before going out)

No spare vans, many use own cars in the office. The managers are saying there's no responsibility to pay bus fare back to the office. I disagree but know nothing about it really.

Walk back to the office then and claim OT. If they won't pay OT or you don't want it then cut off.

The agreement with the bus companies covers travel back to the office, at least ours always did before changing to P&L. What do the bus drivers say if you just walk on?

I agree. Those who need to get back pay. managers say that you can pouch off in a PO and so have no need to get back to DO therefore pay the fare yourself.

It was the same at ours until very recently. Then out of the blue, with no official announcement, OPGs were allowed to travel free again on Arriva buses. First I knew about it, was when I went to pay on a bus, and the driver told me the scheme had been implemented two weeks previously.

Probably the best thing that's happened since I've been in the job. Bus stop outside DO, three minutes later I'm starting, back a DO 10 minutes after last letter. No more fannying around with the van

Is ours the only DO with this agreement with Arriva? Seems fairly unlikely?

New rules now. Gotta make own way home all week, hand in bus tickets following Monday then they`ll be on yir wages that Friday. Tough s**t if your skint. I had to get my pal to come get me yesterday as I would have been stranded as was skint. Single part-timer who already forks out for a bus pass but different company runs buses back to city I`m from......Used to be a case of getting money out petty cash before departing in the morning.

In most revisions,regardless of when they have been done,although P&M would of been a good one to get it,there should be travelling time out and travelling time back in the vans put into duties.

The problem is a lot of the revisions in the business are crap,and now a lot of you are f****d.

If you left your car at the office you would get a van back.
The "pouching off" allowance was a national agreement but it was voluntary and they still had to pay the 15mins travelling allowance back to the office.
It wasn't supposed to be a savings exercise,it was supposed to be part of job&finish to allow people who maybe stayed on their walk to go straight home rather than all the way back to the office and then all the way home.
