Saturday finish times

Just seen the proposed Saturday finish times for when we start P and L later this year. No more watching football for me then. To our illustrious union: Thanks for nothing and I hope you enjoy your free Saturdays while the rest of us are working. To our DO managers: Just make sure you remain in the office on a Saturday until the end of our duties.

Depending on which section your on ours are between 2.30 and 3.10pm.

Same here. Problem is that football starts at 3pm and when you live about 45mins from the ground........

our managers are away by 12.30 while we struggle on till 2.30, just have to sell the season tickets lads and get on with it

each area is different, the dom could allow earlier starts so you can be finished by 1300, its makes sense and keeps the football supporters happy.

Your managers will Foxtrot Oscar at their usual times ,one may be forced to draw the short straw and hang around a bit longer but it will be an opg who locks up and sets the alarm.

There should be no need whatsoever, for any postal worker to be tramping the streets past 1.00pm on a Saturday.

That there are postal workers finishing as late as 3.00pm, is due only to the spite & malice of the inhuman scum we slave for.

A workplan could be devised that would provide an early finish on Saturday, if senior management had an ounce of goodwill, that is.

You should get at least one in four saturdays off though. Also, make sure you book your hols when you haven't got a scheduled saturday off to maximise the saturdays you have off.
If your p&L parnter isn't a footy fan, maybe you could arrange something so they could do your last bits on a sat, then you do it back for them in the week. (you both need to drive for this though)

Management don't care, We already have the amended Saturday start times with the final part of our revision going in the now with Park & Loop due to start in April, I like the football even going to see my local team play but if I'm paired with anybody that has a season ticket for our nearest city teams they'll be staying out and completing their loops thats just the way the cookie crumbles. I'm not rushing for nobody they should have left the Saturday start and finish times as they were.

Yeah but senior managers and union officials should be doing it too and not just their Monday to Friday schedule.

Management where I am go home at 8am, and usually only a line manager, DOM never works Sats. I have asked if there were a problem(breakdown, attacked by dog etc)just call the police, that is not how it should be, there should be a manager in the office,until all posties are done

i agree, i called my office at 1 yesterday with a problem. no answer or even a call back. posties not due back for another 90 mins or so and no soul about. bull****

No, I haven't forgotten the CWU's disgraceful collaboration in all this, which is why I ceased being a member the very second I was told 1.00pm wasn't a late enough finish on a Saturday.
