If they can afford to offer to subsidise stamps they can damn well pay you a bonus.

Like most employees on here,am in the dark regarding this bonus payout,as basically we hear next to nothing on any progress of this.
Reading and hearing bits here and there about it and trying to fit the jigsaw pieces together to build the overall picture,i came across the possible following:
What am read to believe is from September last year up too April this year were due £1400,half due on September and other half due on April.Of course was told that the shares plummetted too novalue so no payout. However the CWU and the royal mail are on talks about [hear nothing about progress yet again].
Royal mail are seemingly looking to re value the share payout at end of April/early May,so therefore has led me too believe that there may be a payout thereafter, not near the value we are all due however,as we all would be gratefull of getting something out of it as better than nothing.Thats the picture i've got anyway,we will see coming April :hmmmm

Probably the first step towards any revaluation of the Colleaguesgares will be the announcement on whether or not the EU will permit the government to take on the pension deficit.
This would surely transform the companies financial situation.

and pave the way for us to be sold as no buyer will have to take on the pension deficit.

According to Royal Mail new adjustments linked to the pensions provisions within the new Postal Services Act may yet improve the final valuation of ColleagueShare although it is unlikely that the "shares" will return to anywhere near their previous "value." These adjustments will now take place around May 2012

The word is that the colleague share payment due in June is worthless again.

obviously talks on colleague share replacement etc is ongoing.

The word is also that the media is going to do a right job on Royal Mail in April , the EU state aid will be announce and the pension issue resolved and at the same time 3.5 per cent will be paid. Clearly the attack will be that Royal Mail have been bailed out by both the EU and the Government and it's first action is to give one of the highest percentage pay rises given in industry during this recession.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

I hope that the union will make it clear to the media that this pay rise is part of a three year deal and when averaged out over the three years it is nowhere near "one of the highest percentage pay rises given in industry during this recession".
We wouldn't want the media getting the wrong end of the stick and blaming "greedy posties" again as they did over the BT2010 agreement when the rumour that we were getting a £5,000 colleagueshare bonus was allowed to go unchecked.

The media who hate us will print what they like - checked or unchecked.
Our best bet to get our side of the argument across is to leave messages on each other's answerphones, in the hope they hack into them.
They are more likely to believe that than anything the CWU media department put out.

Why doesn't Royal Mail announce the pay rise now before the announcement on state aid?
Surely if you wanted to avoid the attack that would be a sensible way of dampening at least some of the fire.
It's hardly a state secret anyway.
Unless of course the 3.5% is reliant on receiving state aid.

I don’t think RM want to avoid the furore that will accompany the announcement. They want the public turned against us.
That way there will be little opposition to their privatisation plans - - -
