Collared by the guvnor last Saturday. No lie, he said to me: 'We've had a complaint from a customer on X road who HAS NOT received a particular D2D. UNBELIEVABLE. Is this a first? also, could someone dig me out a quote of D2D delivery i.e. 100% is sometimes unachievable..... :crazy:

How is 100% not achievable? You just take all the D2Ds for that address and put them through the door. :hmmmm

True but you never know if someone works for the company sending out the D2Ds so it's always best to just give them everything (unless you run out or they have an opt out).

Or working for the organisation that sent it out.
Or working for a marketing organisation that tracks them.
Or part of the panel that reports on Royal Mail compliance

etc.

There are many reasons why someone would complain. The idea we have to get used to, and its going to take forever I know, is that D2D is just another mail stream that we have to deal with, and if we can't - it managements problem and to a lesser degree the Unions.

My my. there are some sad b*stards in this world arn't they. I am sure if they asked their neighbours they would have let them scrounge in their bin to have theirs.

they arent though, some inaccessable addressess may only be undeliverable for a short while. i.e, letterbox screwed down because the addressee has gone away. then a few weeks later, it accessable as someone else has moved in. in these instances they dont bother their arses to faff about updating the count, then re-updating.

Same here, whenever anything of any 'value' goes out as D2D we get complaints that items weren't received. Last one was for Mcdonalds :crazy: as there was a free coffee voucher :left:

From the D2D terms of service
4c4 We allow for a 5% difference (under or over) in the estimated total number of items we will deliver. If the overall total we actually deliver falls short by more than 5% of the estimated total, we may credit you an amount equal to the amount of the shortfall, as long as the shortfall has not been caused by you either failing to provide enough items for us to deliver or delivering the items to the handover point late.
