Numbered D2Ds

Anyone shed any light on this?

Today I prepped my D2Ds as usual. When I cam to the start of a new road each D2D had the house number marked on it. Obviously the lino had been to the frame while I wasn't there and put the numbers on the D2Ds. Why?

Prob a check but I'd rather say he ain't got anything better to do.

How would he know which door to doors you would pick up, and which ones you would put in which slot?

In my office they get opened on a monday morning, and put into piles, shuffled, put into different piles, in and out of boxes throughout the week and just generally all mixed up.

The chances of a lino counting the number of houses in a single street, taking into account opt-outs, double slots, triple slots, then counting that number out, writing a number on one, then stacking them up in the right order, and them staying in order and being put into corresponding slots.. well, chances are a billion to one!

sounds like he,s checking on you, he may go back to your pile of d2ds later in the week looking for the ones he marked up, and if they are in the returns pile, then he,ll try and do you for wilf. probably he,ll have marked a few up in the office. so make sure you do them all, and if not, endorse the ones that arnt done. tell you,re colleagues as well.

It would make me laugh as well, the pettiness, the pointlessness and ultimately the laziness of the bloke doing the marking. To be honest I would have played the evil card and swapped around the D2Ds so that they all got them, but they got different numbers. Then if they are checking they would have to check every house.

It's hard to believe that's what it is - checking. But thats what it must be. I will ask him about it tomorrow.

Not sure what it would prove if a marked d2d showed up in the office. you would need to see the leaflet in the bottom of the kitchen bin in each house to know if its been delivered or not. Is it acceptable to be checked in this way from a professional point of view? I realise the larger picture is they aren't wanting me in the office any longer... but thats been going on a long time now.

i usually number my door to doors then leave till another day the ones that have no mail

It's hard to believe that's what it is - checking. Is it acceptable to be checked in this way from a professional point of view

As I understand there are a number of checks that go on with D2Ds:

1. Local mangers should do a check on a regular basis.
2. IB occasionally have been known to do checks, at least when we claimed for them. Not heard if any locally since the change.
3. The companies themselves will do checks to see how successful the campaign has been.

As to the method of checking, as far as I know nothing is written in stone so I suppose the methodology of the checks is left to local management. At ours they use visits and UV pens.
