What can slow you down?

Lets make a list of potential things that can slow the job down, i will start off with one indoor and one outdoor
Indoor
Barcode stickers over the address
Outdoor
Stuck at railway crossing

Lets see how many we can get then they can be used to tell the dim why we could not complete.

What can slow me down? Checking this forum at 7am on a Sunday morning It's my bloody day off what am I doing here?!!

Doing the job properly without cutting corners, such as

Not filtering mail for the next address while walking i.e. filter while stationary immediately after posting through the last letterbox (which also reduces backtracking if there was a missort)
Not stepping over walls or through holes in bushes to get to the next delivery point i.e. follow the proper footpaths leading to each delivery point
Not locking up your HCT while loading your pouch to the hilt to do a road loop in violation of the walk's 2/5/10mins risk assessment i.e. keep your pouch light/empty (besides specials) and push the HCT everywhere, only locking when it will go out of sight and even then you must return to the HCT within the risk assessment time before resuming deliveries
Not taking your paid meal relief i.e. take your break entitlement including any extra for going past 5/7/9/11 etc. hours

Virgin Media are the biggest culprit

Not caring what time you finish.

being determined to work right up your time regardless of the fact it's a tuesday with no mail on.

Walking as though you've got calipers on both legs.

Taking half an hour to throw off one box of sequenced mail, putting each letter in the frame as though it's trickier than threading a needle.

Going for a fag break every 20 minutes.

Delivering all the mail, then both driver and walker doing the packets together in the van (essentially meaning you're triple calling at those addresses)

Just a few things i've noticed slow people down in my office, i'm not sure you could use them as excuses to the DOM though

OUTDOOR: the same again , did they get 1 or this one next door's! TAP,TAP,TAP.

What can slow me down?
I know what has slowed me down this last 15 years.
Every change made to deliveries in that time, and age, I'm 15 years older.
