What I don't get though is,shouldn't there now be NO complaints if it is done the way it is described.
New in and out frames at Shirley helped to identify if all redirections were carried out on a daily basis. It also made it easier to add new customers and remove expired redirections.
‘We started tackling the highest impact units first and where the intervention has been put in place we have seen a 19% reduction in complaints.
PS:Are some of our colleagues really that f***ing useless?
PPS:Do you reckon Cardiff are using this system?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
They tried doing the in/out frame in our office the complaints soared due to people forgetting to do them or the re-di's being out of date. Previously the managers used to go along the aisle and check the frame sheets and take out any out of date re-di's. Then we had the quality of service people in and they done a re-di check on the whole office, they pulled over 200 out of date re-di's out of these stupid in/out frames. Lets just say all re-di's are back on the frames and managers have had to go back to checking the re-di sheets on everyones frames.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet

Redirection of packets and signature items can be a big problem because threre is basically no redirection process for them other than relying on the postie remembering the redirections. The other day i was on a rural i haven't done for 3 years and had a special which should have been redirected. I only realised when I got to the house and there was a sold sign and it was empty.

Your office should get a sheet from the redirection center which lists redirections to be removed on a daily basis and the walks they are on. No need to go round checking all the redirections.

What a load of BULL**** those new frames don't make any difference in if the redirections are getting done or not. It's down to the postman to make sure he does them, what frames they have makes no difference. The new style in and out frames are rubbish to, the old style letter or flat frames were better because you had letters in one frame and flats in the other and it was easier to collect the mail. Now you have letters on top of flats and flats on top of letters it takes longer to collect your mail, not to mention dropping them on the floor. Yet again it seems another example or royal mail trying to fix something that isn't broke and making it worse, what will be next? telling us to hop around our deliveries on one foot so it saves money on wear and tear on shoes because you're only using one.
all it requirees is posties to do their job.
In and out frames, waste of time.
if posties go through the redis, check dates, names etc then problems should be minimal.
In our DO the PHGs check for withdrawn redis from the redi list that comes in every redi pouch.
however this just proves most posties arent checking dates
The problem I believe was because the in/out frame was located right at the other side of the office......bearing in mind our office is the size of a football pitch, people just forgot or could'nt be arsed. I'm not making excuses but it was a stupid idea to start with and the quality of service auditors agreed hence normal service being resumed

We are actually trialling this in our office and initial results do seem to indicate a 17% reduction in shoe issuing.
In and out frames - total nonsense. This could only be effective if a postman wasn't doing any redirections - in which case their would be a clear pattern to the complaints.
The reduction in complaints is due to the issue of redirections being highlighted at WTLL - and consequently there being a (temporary?) spotlight on the problem. Where the redirections are kept should make no difference to the out of date ones being withdrawn.
The general collapse of the housing market has meant a huge reduction in the number of redirections in our DO and those who are moving seem less likely to want to pay for a redirection service.
If you've only got 7 redirections you are less likely to make mistakes than the bloke who has got 70.
It isn't rocket science.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.
Surely at the end of the day the redirection process relies on the people responsible for prepping or double-prepping a duty and the managers ensuring everything gets done? These staff will know exactly which parts of prepping they have done each morning, including redirections/backfacing/deads, so as long as they inform management as to what they have not done (rather than "sneaking" off and telling nobody or leaving a note for the duty holder), then ultimately the redirected items end up back at the IPS. They should not need a special section in the IPS, they are just another piece of live mail, of which there should be none in the section's pidgeonholes before the section leaves for delivery!

It's their time to waste, not mine
I just check my sheet that I get once a week, if any are coming up to finish then I remember those and put them to the top of the pile and once they're out of date............of they go to the PHG.
It really isin't rocket science

Brought them some time ago in our office only they stay in the frame you put them in after they've been done - they never get checked and moved back to the other frame.
