no planner for revision. Good or bad?

We are a smallish DO, 20 odd walks and 3 drives.Been hearing that our DOM will be responsible for our revision, without a planner. He wants to take our input. Personally think it is probably better if we all get our views across and help hiM, rather than let him bungle it on his own. What do you reckon?

I reckon you are right to take this approach as its you guys who do the job day in and day out,but at the same time your local or area rep should be involved as well to make sure management are not taking the piss.

Forget it ,you are being fed a crock of shite. Your DOM will not be au fait with all the processes required and will just be a mouthpiece for the backroom boys. They have a strategy and you will be shafted again if you accept this route. Don't believe me? give it a try

Thing is i dont feel we can lose really, seeing all the horrors that planners have thrown up during other revisions. If its a f**k up then so be it, but it doesnt HAVE to be a total f**k up does it? In reality these revisions are savings led. I reckon it will be better to see what the DOM needs and work with him. It will be interesting to see if the others agree with me.Thing is as a small office we currently seem to be a bit "off the radar" of higher management in our area. Give em what they want and we could still get a "result"

Even with a planner your DOM will be held responsible for the revision. You may well find that "giving them what they want" could prove more costly than you think.

Like every other office, the revision just needs to be sensible. I know it will be costly for some in that we will lose all our (ghost) OT we currently enjoy! Ah well, we`ve had a good run. Mayb e we should be awkward and uncooperative and try and buy some time

Or maybe you should just try and get management to honour the agreement they signed ?
Truth is , if what you've said already is a reliable guide to your mindset ,you are toast already , farewell and adieu

Resign started last week .full time postman wanted to go part time but said no because he never put letter in to ask tp go part time , but part time could sign into full time post but they never had to write letter asking to full time . this seems unfair.

Not sure what your DOM'S like but i would be very wary of anything they come up with,you maybe right about working together but believe you me they are in with others and most of them have other ideas underneath the top skin,those ideas are to save money they are being instructed to do so and normally it is to the detriment of the office and staff so be careful in whatever you do and involve your Area Rep and your Health and Safety rep.
