found a magazine in my bag on return to DO

Hi, this is my 2nd week with royal mail, I have a 6 month contract. I returned to the Do 40 mins after my contracted finish time of 14:00. then I went to my frame to put in some D2D because my manager wants some done, when I discovered 1 item of mail in my bag!!. I put it the frame for the next day. Now Im panicing about willful delay.what will happen any ideas?.

Whatever you do don't cough to it tomorrow.

Are you on the same duty Thursday if so I doubt it will be mentioned or even noticed. If it is do not go into any meeting without speaking to a rep or experienced member first.

Out of curiosity were any of the management team still in the office when you got back?

Say nothing other than "it was not there when i went out on delivery", you will be fine.

Well to be honest my legs and feet were and still are absolutley killing me so I needed sometime to gather my self for my walk home via sainsburys to pick up some nurofen,

Nurofen - a postman's best friend.
Why doesn't Royal Mail buy painkillers in bulk and the first aider or the workplace coach could sell them at cost to the workforce.

Instead of buying enormous amounts of chocolate as comfort food, posties could have pain relief and be slimmer.
It would be a win-win situation.

After 2 weeks I & I suspect most did the same & more
Although never did unpaid overtime I would always complete
Took me many years to get so cynical.

To answer the question, yeah just keep quiet it's unlikely to be noticed if you on frame tomorrow
And if some colleague notices and incredibly tells tales just plead ignorant.
And if you are ever in the same position again by accident ( honest mistake) just endorse 'stray dog' .

A couple of times now we've got back and had a thorough search of every bag, like we're returning to the nick after day release.
If there is anything to take the next day just endorse it as a mis-sort. They won't even know if it's for your duty .

Jesus I bring a small bundle back everyday, full of missorts. Don't stress about it. By the way you came back to the DO 40mins AFTER your finish time, to do d2d ??

some advice I would do this kind of thing in RM time not your own,

I go over my time by a small amount each day and normally hit them for about 2-3 hrs extended by the end of the week.

Same here, with at the very least 1,000 odd items I'm going to make a mistake, even dealing with gold or cash in a previous job 100% was not likely, usually green was 99.9% or above, or one mistake every 1,000 times you handled it over a month. That's in a closed environment with machines telling you what to do and a scanner making sure it's the correct item.

I bring any missorts back and leave them out in the open on my frame, just don't try to hide them, if they want 100% they can pay overtime because 100% is not possible otherwise. If that becomes an issue more training, smaller rounds, more time seeing as you are going over 40 minutes.

I believe that with Angard Staff that they are paid an hourly rate and they will get paid all the hours that they work so in essense they have no cut off procedure they just get paid the hours, if there is a contract for so many hours per week and you go over that you just get paid the extra hours, also worth bearing in mind Angard are not held responsible the same way as RM employees are, and why should they be, NO TERMS&CONDITIONS

I'm part time 25 hours a week OPG 09:00 TILL 14:00, have been going in early because my round was'nt being thrown out, or partail ,done so I go in to sort it.Otherwise if I go in at 09:00 its takes an age to sort it.
