Rotating days off

Hi there wondering if anyone can help me on this. Started with royalmail last November as opg. Mon -sat 25 hrs with rotating day off. Days rotated at 1st until it came to my 6th week. Got moved to another duty. Been moved around alot fair enough but no long weekend ,ie sat/sun/mon off.our office works on rotating days with a long weekend 1 in 6. But not for me as I am told I have to follow the day off of the duty holder, yes fair enough to a point , then am I being penalised for not being a duty holder and working part time? Whatever day I have off it has to be covered so why not a long weekend?basically if I don't get a duty I will never have a long weekend unless I take annual leave?all I am asking is to be treated the same as everyone else. Part time or not I walk as many miles as everyone else. My rep didn't really do much about this , so should I have a word with my Dom and see what happens?If I get no joy what next? It did say in the job description rotating day off and I was told that at my interview also.

You are a reserve that is how it works,even for full timers.
With regards to a Sat off or a long weekend,have a word with whoever allocates the duties and ask if you can get one around every 6 weeks if possible or there abouts.

Hi there I did have a word and they said they will see what they can do

3years now n iv never had a long weekend,, maybe 3 saturdays off

Yeah its sh*t being a cover, by the law of averages i should get a saturday every now and then but i only see one when i have a weeks hols. Its a fiddle.

I'm a fulltime reserve with 7 years service and a long weekend is as rare as rocking horse s**t

I am cwu rep in my office. one of our guys had same prob only same day off each week. told dom he was entitled to 1 in 6 so although he does not get saturday he now has 4 day week (22.5 hrs) and gets Sunday, Monday , Tuesday off . good compromise.
