whats the situation if u are on long term sick due to depression im on a stage 2 and my ssp runs out soon will they just sack me even though my doctor says im not fit for work at the moment?? any answers would help i dont here from my managers ever and i have not had any contact from the cwu rep?

Your DIM would have to refer you to ATOS and with your doctors notes and the evidence taken from your self they will decide whether to IHR you or if your fit to return they will draw up a detailed back to work plan that hopefully will steadily introduce you back into work .Your DIM has to adhere to this report week by week.

You will trigger a stage 3 as they are automatically triggered by the pc system. If you receive paper work informing you of this please contact your rep who will contact your area rep, as it will be your area rep who sits in on your interview.

I would of thought your dim has to contact you weekly bit odd you have heard nothing .Have you been keeping them informed of your well being etc etc

If your ssp is due to run contact jobcenterplus (0845 6088770)and make a claim for 'employment support allowance',if you're on half pay you should of done that already anyway.
You can send them your sick certs and use photocopies for your manager.
Also if you get any type of tax credits you should re-evaluate your end of year earnings and let them know as well.

i think depression is now under equality act 2010 but you need to have had it for over one year i think hope that helps you good luck.

When your SSP expires you should receive from HR an SSP1 form for completion and return to the jobcentreplus from then on your sick notes would go to them also sending a copy to your line manager.

Also if peeps get housing/council tax benefit that can be adjusted as well,or a possible new claim could be made if not already on it.

Your CWU rep may not know you are off sick so contact him/her, your GP may say your not fit for work but RM rely on their Occupational Health to say whether you could return and perform rehab duties.
