Thanks for giving the link Postman. Everyone should watch that in work time learning to see the real story. The accent and the occassional "yu know" did warm her to me but the expert avoidance of questions showed who she is. Liked the jaw drop when asked to provide written statement on the effect of 55p 2nd class stamp on demand. She has a team that works on costs, but then you find out that stamp prices are decided by a wild stab !!!!!!!!!!!

Jesus,What a bunch of kn##s. Yes, so two of them used to run business' and knew their costs. Are they seriously trying to compare their small business concerns with running a corporation like Royal Mail? If they had done their homework then they would have realised it would be virtually impossible to put a figure on what it costs to deliver a second class letter given that it runs alongside all of our other products.

OK, I'm a saddo, I did watch the entire meeting. But it was worth it to hear a Chief Executive lay the blame for RM's precarious financial on 10 years of a flawed regulatory model that opened us up to competition before providing the funds to modernise the business (and so put us in a position where we could thus compete effectively). She could have taken the easy option and argued that it was all the 'fault' of the staff and their refusal to co-operate with change and all the other garbage certain previous people in that role have spouted. She came across as sincere, and my opinion of her is different now I have seen her defending to those clowns the 'outstanding' service we provide

She could also have been honest and blamed 10 years of total and utter mis-management but then to do that she would have to take a hard look at some of the numpties surrounding her on a day to day basis.
Who signed us up to the regulatory regime?
Who was delighted to sign us up to the DSA agreements?
Who decided to take a pension holiday and screw up our pension pot?
Who has taken a profitable,decent service,shed a third of the workforce and completely balls it up?
Who has spent billions on modernising the business and ended up with some crappy vans that are too small,revisions that don't work,duties that are too big,some broken PDA's and an unhappy workforce?
Who allows their managers to bully and harass staff into achieving the impossible on a daily basis.?
Who allows their managers to walk all over every agreement we've ever had?
Who was employed to sell us off ensuring that at some point we will be broken up into unrecognisable little pieces.
Who is steering the course on this road to oblivion.....?

No, no, no dear fishtank, what the country want to know is who isn't buying all those pretty coloured fairly priced 2nd class stamps or something miniscule and vague like that. Actually, and I'm becoming embarrassed to say this so often, fishy you're spot on again. Why didn't the mps ask those questions? There's enough up there in your list to stand a whole month of discussion. I was very surprised to hear all the rm 'products' are financially thought of as one lump instead of knowing the varying pressures on one particular product band, such as, say, a 2nd class stamp.
