Doms trying to get us to do I.P.S. quicker

At Inward sorting the Dom has said we are going to be "coached" into sorting quicker.
Wants everyone to sort at least 34 per minute (dont know where that figure comes from)walks up and down the isle saying "faster,faster"
Problem is that we have runners wanting to get out early for docket and the sorting is slowing them down and the Dom is trying to get the extended O/T cut down.
Thing is how does he expect a postie who has only ever delivered 2 rounds out of 40 to be as fast at I.S. as someone else who has delivered 40 out of 40.and this is compounded by 5000 extra houses built that our office deliver to and all walks were changed.
Part timers at our office are on the same rounds week in and week out and are put under duress to sort faster.
Nothing is said about delivery speeds only I.S. speeds to get everyone out the door.

Following full implementation, when all employees and managers are fully aware of the required performance standards, it is accepted by both parties that the use of the formal one-minute checks to evaluate a fully-trained individual’s performance, would not be appropriate. The only exception to this might be when an individual’s capability to meet the standard is brought into question due to the length of time they may have been away from the task they are due to perform e. g. the individual has been performing other duties for a year and the use of a one-minute check may indicate to the manager that they may require support or refresher training.

Our dom tips the flats out for us when we are on the ips,even misses his conference call these days!

doms doing posties work....great innit. all 4 of ours tip trays, sort, prep, tie up walks. Too me it shows they havent got enough management work themselves and the indoor figures are way out. Looking forward to raising these issues during our p&l revision.

The new backless frames, with the bungey cords, are multi size and yoou can now do flats and letters at the same position.

last week,,,thur,,fri,,,out of an office of about 50 we had 3-5 at most on the ips,,,,we had the divey shouting out "your quicker on a saturday" LOL 1st were still on the old saturday hours of 5-11,,,,,2nd on the primary on a saturday there are approx 30 sorting,,,soooooo i aint a rocket scientist butttt LOL

Our IPS has been cut to shreds, the DOM is reducing FT towns (who are the only ones to do IPS) to PT, he's been told not to do that by his boss...........and Michael Kennedy has also told him to keep the numbers up on IPS, otherwise the rurals end up either going over onto OT or cutting off........not that I care anymore, for those 8 hours I'm paid they can ask me to do what they want but only for those 8 hours.

So presumeably there are new standards for these mixed mail backless frames? "Postman"'s earlier post lists seperate standards for letters in the 30s and flats in the high 20s, so is it bang in the middle, according to the number of pidgeonholes per IPS backless frame?
