Reimbursement for buying own shoes/trainers

Manager wasnt sure if I'd get reimbursed, probably because he never bothered to find out.

Yes you can be re-imbursed for your buying your own shoes / trainers however medical evidence may be needed a note from your GP or an ATOS report would help

Yes, gave my doctors note to manager a few weeks back, but because the only trainers I have are white he said I need to get dark ones.

I was told by my DOM that I have to wear RM shoes/trainers, when he noticed that I had my own trainers on. He insisted that its a sackable offence to wear your own trainers. I take no notice though, still wear my trainers as RM's are crap !

I had to ask the DOM this question for one of our members who is a diabetic. The postie has to get a note from the GP, then has to have a referral to ATOS. When that has all been ok'd they can buy their footwear but they have to have the same if not more grip than current RM footwear. The receipt has to be shown and then RM reimburse you £30.

Strange that, because when I was referred to atos with my sciatica, during a phone call with them I suggested the cat shoes weren't helping, the lady told me its not atos remit to decide on what footwear RM choose for us to wear, and that I should speak to my manager if I had a problem.

You can wear your own "suitable" footwear if you have a doctors/medical letter to say RM's is not right for you.
RM will reimburse you £30.00 for them, i had a guy in my office who i sorted recently.

Only ever been given the magnums, wear my own walking boots most of the time because the magnums are shite. Not to fussed about whether I should/shouldn't, they are lot, LOT more comfortable, and I odn't see how they can be less safe in terms of falls because they're better than magnums in that regard. I've ordered the CAT trainers but never been given them (I think ive mentioned on here before, it took me over 3 months to be given any uniform at all and all i have now is 4 polo shirts, one pair of trousers (no shorts) and magnums).

I think the managers in my place have much bigger problems than what shoes I am wearing... I doubt theyve even looked.
