even though it is on the 739 cards, royal mail fail to give clear directions on leaving with a neighbour or safe place

an example of this would be, has the house holder notified royal mail that you can leave with this neighbour

and what if the packet goes missing and the neighbour denies all knowledge

just 739 the item and bring it back to be safe

its not our fault nobody is at home now to get rid of the items

Ok but won't customers get grumpy? Often I get people come out if they see me at their neighbours door and say I will take it for them, so I'm meant to say no?

Yes they probably will get grumpy but what's worse a grumpy customer, or a manager passing you your P45

Unless they have already informed the DO that the shed is a safe place then no.

And as for the leaving packets with neighbours..........the only ones you can do it with at the moment is Tracked packets that have that specific instruction ie. leave at number 25 or leave in shed.

get them to write in to the relevant delivery office and a card will be put on the delivery frame

It's time we had the answer to two important questions before this "deliver to neighbour" trial goes national.

Will a member face conduct charges if a neighbour insists they didn't receive the item?
This will draw a complaint...how will it be handled?

I've heard numerous wishy-washy assurances but i haven't heard a definitive Yes/No answer.

We’re the only major delivery company that is not allowed to deliver to a neighbour as part of its standard practice.

i p739 everything, better save than sorry, i dont get alota packets on mine so aint to bad really, even tracks with info, i just bring em back, had a very irate woman at xmas cause i woudnt leave her neighbours special with her, she went mental lol

You are never to leave a special with a neighbour, one even complained bout this, the people's who's special it was didn't even like the neighbour, she proberly wanted to steal it and blame the postie, ME
