Only rural doing job how it's meant to be done

I'm sick of all the runners,coming in early,not having breaks and people not booking overtime when they go over. What is wrong with people,my whole office is like it. I'm the only one what has my break before I go out and cut off and all I get is abuse for it, I'm just doing the job how it's meant to be and my fellow workers moan at me. :-(

I come in on time (6.15) rural delivery do d2d's till 6.30,prep till 6.45 go ips sorting till 7.15 prep again,have 20 mins meal relief before i go out,it's great man!!
And book over when required!

I never work get in early, never rush about and never work over..... There's probably only 20% of my office doing this now. When we first got P & L everybody was doing this. As time has gone on people have crept back into their old habits.

What I find most annoying is the new people who start. They ALL start early and run around as if thier lives depended on it. They are oblivious to the damage they are doing and think that it's great that they are ready early. This causes aggro for those that don't come in early as they get lots of management hassle if a newbie runner has done thier walk the previous week, having got in early and avoided the sorting, etc management moan that if "so and so can do that walk why can't you" They don't care that the runner has cut the job up!

30 mins on the ips in our office they will be on the ips for 2 hrs most days

Must admit it gives me great pleasure to take round the missorts from my frame to the early starters just as they have finished bundling up,and they have already got the packets sorted in there vans.

You will find this in all offices and it is killing the job. I start bang on my time and laugh at the ones that come in more than an hour before there time when I leave the office before them. I do a rural duty and take a 20min break when I am out and finish 20 mins early. The best thing that could happen if the CWU said work to rule.

blah blah blah. "runners are spoiling this job". I class it as free exercise. If im allowed to start early and finish early im going to take full advantage of it. I much rather spend time with my baby daughter than deliver mail all afternoon.

you running around is putting a false impression on the iwt and bsi and is stopping a part timer being made up to full time

you are paid for 8 hours and the business expects 8 hours work, not doing 8 hours work load in 7

all jobs are now equal as such so their is no finishing early (job and knock no longer happens)

Job and knock still in use in my office. Royal mail have a set standard. They set out a duty that takes 8 hours but if I can get round in 7 or less I will do it. I am not cutting corners but I am working efficiently. (a word that a lot of people on here dont know). I understand if they turn round and say to me you have to work your 8 hours then I will slow right down. Or they can come out and test my round because I have nothing to hide. My customers get their mail early and correctly which I take pride in and a lot of my customers appreciate that.
