D2D control sheeet

Does anyone else still have to fill in a control sheet to say that they have done their correct percentage per day?
I thought that since they were now classed as live mail that there would be no control since there is no control
for first class, second class, MS or DSA that we need to sign on a daily basis.
He is now insisting that we sign to say that we HAVE delivered our 20% before we commence delivery
We keep asking how we can sign for something we havent done but we keep getting told that we must sign it
and if any mishap befalls us and they dont get done that day there will be no comeback. This was said in front of us all, so we do have witnesses
should anything happen.
Just think that it is crazy and another piece of s**t to interfere with the process of sorting & delivering items of mail

We are meant to - I don't but I do have in place a system for recording the D2Ds I have done, this has been agreed with my day off cover. As they allow it in the various agreements I am managing the D2Ds and I ensure that all are delivered within the agreed timescales.

Ours got us to put one d2d item in every slot, then count what is leftover , presumably to save them counting the leftovers the next week. I refused and said i'll just count them off the frame to save time, but was bullied again. Of course only 20% had to go so that 80% had to come out of the frame again, what a waste of time !

We failed an audit because the relevant paperwork concerning delivery of D2D wasn't up to date.
We didn't fail the audit because we had failed D2D.

My frame has six columns....there are six working days,i haven't felt the need to mark them Mon-Sat in case i forget how many days there are in a week...it's not that difficult to work out.
I think a control sheet is as Clash says...a rather pointless paper exercise.

We never fill them in any more, they all go out, was told if we have any overs, we have to start delivering them to the houses, but I just give extra to the people who have annoyed me, or moan about them

Occasionally these get dished out, then duly forgotten about especially when someone does part of a walk on o/t but 'forgets' the d2d. Seems like every duty holder has an understanding with their day off cover as to which bit of the walk they should do the d2ds on. Sadly us guys who just cover weeks/days off never get to know this until we've delivered the wrong bit.

They tried that in our office with a shiny new control sheet that had a picture of a frame divided into six.
Two days of members chasing line managers all around the office to get the sheet signed brought a tactical withdrawal.
100 members waving sheets of paper at a manager is hilarious by the way.

Still have those control sheets in our place, but bless the cotton socks of my prepper, they never have spotted the officially opted out address and very rarely spot the odd times when an item is for all addresses (residential and businesses)!

In theory they wanted us to prep/deliver by columns (which is more agro when you have a 10? column RM2000 frame, not to mention different sections each week for the day off cover), so for simplicity we prep/deliver by roads and the day-off cover does the same bit each and every week.

Regular "overs" on my walk, due to numerous inaccessible delivery points, plus my prepper regularly under-prepping houses of multiple occupancy and forgetting which businesses have a residential address above. And then there are times like when someone different covers your long weekend and decides to not do D2D on the Saturday or following Monday (with the lino's blessing)!

The other classic is how if you leave a section for someone to cover on overtime, its amazing how many times the o/t bandit will willfully delay the D2D for an address that has not other mail, when the road prepped is part of the minimum 1/6th delivery requirement per day. Again, lino turns blind eye!

Likewise I deliver them all and keep a record of when, but haven't seen any control sheets whatsoever since door to doors were included in the workload, a failing surely in that we've now no idea of who has or hasn't opted out of receiving them.
