Tried to do a search to find out if my question has been answered before and couldnt find a definitive answer.
Basically i have been with RM just over two years now and im still on a temp rolling 3 month contract which this time is due to end at end of March this year. Im sure i had read somewehere on here that the CWU had agreed that after two years you had to be made permanent. Is this the case or did i misread something? My CWU rep said he hadnt heard of this and when he spoke to the DOM he said everything just carries on as normal i.e temp rolling contract. Dont know where i stand at the moment. Our revision isnt now due until later this year so i want to do all i can to try and secure a permanent contract. Any advice appreciated.

afaik you'll get a permanent contract when the revision finishes. loads of revisions have been done, and i still havent heard of even one FTC been made redundant

Get your rep to contact your Area rep or Branch for clarification.
Is there anything official on here that shows the agreement, something i could take into my rep to show him? Will ask the rep tomorrow to speak to area rep for clarificaton but our rep is the Doms best mate so dont hope for much. Can i contact the area rep myself or has it got to be done via the local rep? wouldnt surprise me if you kept like this for the whole 4 years then told thanks very much and good bye. then get asked after a couple weeks you want to work for r.m and be in the same position you in now

its at the decretion of the dom i would think, one guy went full time after 7 years.
rm does not want full time people its costs more in holiday sick pay and other allowances.
