Years back we used to get RSPCA birds mags and although they were just floppy in a clear plastic bag they were all marked "do not bend". We never bothered as they were not very thick and slipped through folded in half without any damage and spring open before they hit the mat.

However we had this dear old lady on my round who would phone up every smegging month and complain i had folded her mag so i was told to knock. Which i did and got a very smug "well thank you postman" for my trouble. All went well until the golden day when i saw her walking her dog so i shot around to her house and left a docket

I got her a few times like that, happy days.

What I hate is when its been pouring down for hours, and you get people open the door and ask why are "their paper letters are wet", while I'm standing dripping, and they moan so you spend even more time in the wet explaining if I cant keep myself dry what hope does paper have, cant get it in their thick heads

I once had a bloke follow me up the road whining about me folding a large envelope complaining it was an expensive piece of sheet music for his gifted daughter - I pointed out that it didn't say Dont Bend, he then said "we left the front door unlocked" - I asked how I would know that because there was no note on the door.............it reached the point where I told him to go away and non too politely.

He does say on the same post he would prefer going to collect it rather than get it bent. If so its very easy to arrange.
