Dead Letter returns

As part of my indoor work i have to deal with the dead letter returns .

If they do not have return address I always though they go to belfast to be opeded and to try and find out who the letters have to be sent back too.

My lino say thet are to be incerated is this right ? don't know where they are incinerated

I think stamped stuff still goes to Belfast (or wherever)
Mailsort and crap like that goes in the confidential waste.

No it is not. We have a private contractor who collects it from the DO and it is incinerated.

Yes, obviously meter mail is business mail. Only social mail is opened if there is no return address. Business mail is destroyed if there is no return address. Businesses should be aware of this and it is their choice not to incude a return address.

ROFLMAO funniest thing I've read in ages especially as its partially? true. All valuables that can't be returned are sold off by RM. Wasn't there a fuss in the papers about this a while ago?

Horizon mail is special mail they get on the South Coast.
If you take it down to the beach when the tide is going out, and lob it in the sea, after about an hour you can see it bobbing about on the horizon.
