What is the actual policy on park and loop . Our office started park and loop 5 months or so ago and as far as i can tell most people carry ,managers our cwu rep and h&s all seem to be fine with carrying .

i have thought of a change many times recently all derogatory but the truth is i still have two bags just dont carry em ,but instead of the 5 0r 6 on my old duty it now varies between 8 to 10 and all for approx £30 quid a week less. with the way its unfolded over the last few months my resolve and faith in royal mail is weaked and my anger and frustration is strengthened ,ROYAL MAIL with all its modernation is still a dinosaur mainly in its attitudes and im talking about management , unions and its workforce ,so i can switch from to or to in the course of a morning

tell me about it thats how fu"^**d up it is we have no cover for our park and loop duty so on my days off its broken into two seperate duties as pre p&l one is given a van the other uses their car .which means the back end of our park and loop duty get thier mail much earlier and therefore a better service and all at overtime rate

use of trollys is mandatory, loads of lads in our office dont use them a few of us do , we were shown an email from a royal mail director saying, the use of all equipment is mandatory,(trollys) and the use of private cars is to cease when park and loop starts. the mangers dont want you use them because you will need more loops off,

I don't think anyone's actually been told they're mandatory (most think they're optional) and there's certainly been no mention of the withdrawal of private cars since P&L.

Matter-of-fact, only this week the manager was going around asking what delivery methods people are using (trolley or bag-on-shoulder) and when I asked the rep what it was all about he didn't have a clue.

the trollys must be used, were walking for longer now, weight off the shoulder is what trollys were brought in for, im sure royal mail did not pay good money for all these trollys to sit unused in the back of a van, managers dont want us to use them because it takes longer, a lot of posties dont use them because they still want to rush round and try and get done early, trollys are used with two bags each side one side full of mail the other side any oversized you can fit in and packets, if posties are not using trollys what are they doing with there oversized pkts, they must be driving round delivering them in the van probably together, meaning your going to some houses twice,get on to your linos get on to your union reps find out what park and loop is about, its not your own version of it, royal mail have planned this park and loop out, so follow there rules, loops off every day in our office doing it there way, linos going out delivering til stupid oclock, they all got a nice bounus to bring this in and make it work, so just do your job, and watch them try and make it work.

if posties are not using trollys what are they doing with there oversized pkts, they must be driving round delivering them in the van probably together, meaning your going to some houses twice

That's exactly what some of them are doing - bagging up as if it's the old way with the driver doing more packets.
