Staff discount on sending parcels

My union rep told me today that Royal Mail Employees get discount when sending items... is this true?
I do quite alot of work on E-bay and was wondering if there are any ways of saving a penny or two..

no but you get 50 first class stamps at xmas

I don't think we do but we should. Most other companies give staff discounts.

If you are 'doing quite a lot of work' on ebay, I'd be more worried about the tax man than getting postage discount..........?

Usually philatelic (stamp collecting.) Type stuff but usually the higher priced items such as stamps in picture frames or books etc. Not the cheaper items such as FDC or presentation packs.

With PARCELFARCE if like you say your going to sell a lot on ebay, if you spend £10,000 per year or more on levels then you get your own account manager and you negotiate a fixed price depending on how much your spending on postage. It's to try and mop up business from yodel and other couriers now that a lot more have started to pick up parcels from houses. Yes parcelforce is a little bit more expensive than everyone else but they at least pay their staff a half decent wave compared to these other chancers who are sending out people with up to 200 drops per day and getting as low as 60p per parcel but it's a personal choice.
