Is a postman with shorts a stereotypical view??

I've seen many of my friends taking an absolute mick out of me by saying "wearing your shorts this week?" (This was said in January when it was freezing!)

But is it stereotypical of postman/women wearing shorts for work??!

72 deliveries n my d.o. not one wears shorts apart from the summer scorcher days obviously, i just dont get it, this country is baltic in the winter, so no stereotypes here

A couple in our office wore shorts all year round. Spring and summer for me. But if your delivering in snow with shorts at least the bottom of your trousers won't get wet

out of 32 at my office about 10 wear shorts all year round but we are on the south coast.
I wear shorts and find in rain that wet legs dry quicker than if you wear trousers and with the constant movement you are warm anyway.
Perhaps I'm lucky that I dont feel the cold

I wore shorts from march to xmas eve last year and got back into them this week, I agree with the comments above, its so much easier to wear shorts in the wet.

I don't think that many postman wear them all year round. We have one or two out of about 50 staff that do. I think the small number that do just stand out because it is so utterly ridiculous to wear shorts when it is -5

Sadly, for some reason, most of the folks in our office just look plain daft in shorts!

Thing is that some people feel the cold whilst others with a good circulation dont.
I can come in from work after working in minus conditions and my legs are warmer than my wifes who has been sitting in a room of 20 degrees all day.
Everybody is different, I think its nuts when I see some people sorting indoors with 4 layers on whilst I am in a short sleeved shirt

Me neither.
I stopped wearing short trousers when I left infant school and started junior school. I did wear shorts when I played football, though.

Some of my colleagues make me laugh though, pale, stick-thin legs, knobbly-knees, most of 'em look like field marshall Montgomery.

I wore shorts on two days this summer and one day the previous - what a scorcher !! The ones who wear them all year round do look silly though.

Bloke at my office wears shorts all year round and on a hot day he doesn't even wear a shirt,only a hi-vis!

Im in Scotland and theres about 3 that wear them all year round
