Our office has had it revision and for years as long as i can remember since 5 day week came in one week i work monday to friday then off sat,sun,mon then following week i work tuesday to saturday off sunday but been told by management i might have to go on a different day off pair week.
Seems unfair as way forward you suppose to have at least one in 4 saturdays off not one in 6 and why do i have to give my long weekend off as have big impact on my home life they dont force mail centre workers to give there weekends up.
Can they force me to make the change i very unhappy after 28 years.

Way forward was 1 in 6,BT 2010 is min 1 in 4,you've had a revision which you should of voted on.

Thats the crux of the matter (should have voted on). How many people are actually getting a vote, and how many are finding that their local rep has signed things off without even being consulted.

The office voted to stay the same which meant they had a different day off pair week so why do i and other member of staff have to change we should stay the same like we always had.

Amazing how some have it good and others are still stuck on the same shite 6 week rotation with little hope of getting even 1 in 4 Saturdays off!

Slave your very bitter i put 28 years service with royal mail and i have done naff shift patterns plus when first started there was no 5 day week had to work 6 days so dont have a go at me if you got naff duties.

We had a vote last year and the office decided to stick with floating week off system. I did vote for Mon-Fri and Tues - Sat system so I get long weekend every 2 week. I vote for that as it give me more freedom to go away and don't need to work 48 hours a week which I dislike.
