What will happen here?

Hi all. Just wondering if anyone can tell me what might happen in this situation.

On Friday I was on a walk I didn't know. Before I left the depot someone who knew the walk told me how to bag up and wrote down a few detailed directions which I thought going out he had done an excellent job preparing me for. This should have been my second bag but following his directions I didn't find the place but found some others I knew were further on my round and as I didn't have any specials for my other bag but did for these later ones I decided to do all my other bags while I was there and come back to the 2nd one at the end.

So after doing everything else I started looking for my 2nd bag again following his directions about 3 or 4 times, no luck. I programmed the postcode into a sat nav but as it was a block of flats with a name and I didn't have a street number it kept sending me somewhere else. I drove around for about 40 minutes in total, stopping and asking people for directions but nobody could tell me where it was. I tried to phone the guy who had given me directions but it went straight to voicemail, so then I phoned the workplace coach and he couldn't answer his phone either. By this point I was very low on petrol without any money on me to fill up so all I could do was take it back to the deopt and leave a note explaining all this. I called the coach again when I got home and asked him if he would tell the manager in the morning I would call (as it was my day off) to talk about it and he said it should be OK as I've done all I could. I tried calling the office yesterday but as usual there was no answer so I event went down there when I thought everyone would have gone out and he wouldn't be so busy but he had already gone home.

So is there a possibility I could be sacked for willful delay or will they take into account all I tried to do before I (in my mind anyway) ran out of options? I would like to think that they realise I'm not the type to just think "f**k this I can't be arsed" as at least one manager there knows I've been working through an injury on my foot which means I've been limping everywhere for well over a week and haven't phoned in sick.

yes. Our depot rejected the shared van thing as there wasn't enough room to keep all the new vans.

so if you rejected the shared vans did you still have a revision and if so what about the walks outside the mile radius ?

I've only been there about 4 months and AFAIK it was rejected before I joined so no idea on any of it. Does it effect my situation either way?

So do the walks consist of hct walks and bikes

Did you ring your line manager ? as he/she might ask the driver where it is ?

Still no idea on it I just go in, do what walk I'm on for the day and try not to f**k up which I usually manage. There are bike walks but what are hct? I'm assuming farer from the depot?

Ah Ok. A few in our depot use them but the majoirty use thier own cars and a few on bikes.

So back on topic, should I expect to go in tomorrow, come straight home and start looking on job sites?

you should be ok as it was not willful delay also when you started you should have been trained on ALL the rounds

well I was only trained on one so thanks feel a bit better now.
