As regards what happened today with them finishing on time including catchup from yesterday, as I see it you have a decisive weapon... The daily signing in/out sheet which includes spaces for first letter and last letter! If you and they are filling them in correctly, you can clearly demonstrate how many hours work they/you did which will clearly demonstrate what percentage of the walk could be done in those hours and how many indoor hours were taken yesterday and today.

As for your meal relief, it is an entitlement, not a grace break if work permits. Forget what your P&L buddy wants to do, let them know when you plan to take it and let them decide whether to join you or be foolhardy and effectively deliver mail for free.

Do the job to the best of your ability following RM proceedure, take your meal relief entitlement and relish the prospect of them testing you, only to see you are doing things by the book and it is the workload that is unachievable for the amount of contract time you have.

all i can say mate is stick to what you are doing because you are right. we went park and loop about a year ago my partner came in early and did not take his break either but i did after 6 months he stopped doing it now we both just work to are time and that's all we do no ot for us but we do look at the other mugs who work for free and laugh at them

yeah just do what your doing, your manager would rather you did what the rest are doing cos it's gonna make your office look efficient and all working, what happens when 6 months time if they come and add more, or took more hours out office because it looks too good hours wise. it's madness. no doubt you'll have a hellish time of it but you doing what your paid for

Problem is managers who can’t /won’t manage.
If you are on the low wage we are on, the only incentive many have is to rush about finish early and grab docket. Or Finish early and go off to an afternoon job. Time, as an incentive is a cheap commodity for Royal Mail why would they want all of us doing the job properly it would cost them a fortune in new walks and more staff.
Meanwhile those of us that do the job properly and work up to our time and not over, get put upon and highlighted and lazy slow etc etc.
Rest asured Jimmy you are not alone there are thousands of us downtrodden postmen/women all over the county. Try not to let it get to you. As they say "dont let the bastards grind you down".

Why don't you flag it up to your Area Rep if you feel your unit rep is not adhering to the spirit of the revision.

I don't know how long you've been on your revision - ours has been in for almost 18 months and although lots of people have seen the light and stopped coming in early - you still have the die hards who insist on working for nothing and making little deals within deals on a personal basis - totally out of order of course but it is what it is. Hopefully the revised revision due anytime will make more of an inroad into the glaring anomalies that have been present from the word go.

you are correct on not taking peoples photographs on royal mail property but you can take a photo if its a direct hazard to your health and safety

in that case contact your health and safety rep who will take the photo for you and raise the matter in his/her resource meeting

EVERY office has 'mugs' that will cut corners for one reason or another and then act like militants when the manager isn't looking! Get to a WTL session and it's silent night from these hypocrites. Worked for many companies over the years, but Royal Mail is the only company that's full of school leavers in the job for 20 years who seem afraid to simply speak up!

Don't be one of them.

My advice would be to find another job that isn't basically dead end employment and never look back. The other option is you stay in the job, earn a poor wage for the work you do and leave 40 years later with physical problems such as bad back/knees. Do you honestly believe for one moment that your purpose in life was destined to be a glorified donkey that gets zero respect and a poor wage? If the answer is yes then as you were!
