Are L/W trolleys mandatory???

I keep asking my DOM because I use mine but the majority dont for P/L.
He doesn't give me an answer.

Once assigned the use of equipment specified for the route will be mandatory.

Yep,it is mandotary, but no one can complete using them, so they turn a blind eye to it. We got told that it wasnt being enforced at our office now our reps been suspended. Thing is, you make 1 mistake regarding not using 1, and its a 2yr serious at best

so the moral of this is.....use them.

we was told you dont have to use them so we still have some running round and back before 12 most days and some go out in cars to save coming back to office

My way of thinking is they should be smaller/lighter bags which means you'll be moving the van around a lot more.

There's no way I'm going back to carrying heavy bags again because I feel so much better physically since using a trolley to take the weight.

The problem is that the National Union negotiate an agreement in which it is manadatory to use the equipment assigned to that duty. Now whether or not that equipment assigned to the duty is correct is a moot point. The agreement applies and should be enforced by the unit rep by pointing out to management on the resource meeting that people are disregarding the agreement, management are ignoring the position and that a report will be made to the CWU to that effect.

Of course not all reps will see it as a problem - rather like use of cars..............especially if they are one of the transgressors.

Yes we have idiots running round without the trolleys just to get to their O/T quicker. Management don't do anything about them. Our revision is failing badly so any number of managers are having to go out and deliver late in the afternoon. They also are not using the proper equipment.
